The Power of Positive Thinking and Visualization For Success

Updated on June 20, 2007

Everybody visualizes, you just might not realize it. Have you ever daydreamed ? Daydreaming is as natural as taking a breath. You visualize everytime you daydream. Everyone has existing powers of visualization. By taking just five or ten minutes out of your ever so hectic schedule, and working on improving those powers, you may see a great change in your attitude and your life. Visualization is not meditation, hypnosis, dreaming, or affiliated with any particular religion. It is conscious, creative mental imagery. You are always in total control, and you create your own visualization with your imagination. Visualization is great for self-improvement, healing, reducing stress, relieving pain, depression, and anger, weight control, and smoking. Put your daydreams to work for you ! Need to lose a few lbs. to get into that old, favorite pair of jeans? Take five minutes and focus on a slimmer you wearing those jeans. See yourself happy and self-confident. See how others look at you, hear their compliments. See it, Feel it, Believe it ! Say to yourself, "It's o.k. to love myself. I love me. I am beautiful in every way." Of course, this is just an example, and I want you to love the inner you, whatever weight or situation you may have. I believe this is very important. Practice this throuhout the day or night....or even just once a week, but, the more often you visualize, the more you will believe in yourself and the speedier the change. It has helped me and I believe it can help you. What do you have to lose?

Good, useful Hub, Christine. So many people do not appreciate that we think in pictures as well as with our everyday, inane verbal chatter which is believed by so many to be Ourselves. Can't agree fully that we are always in control of our visualization. This would entail the sort of awareness that so many do not have. People daydream violence, accidents and all sorts of trauma as well as scenes of tranqility, love and harmony. Completely controlled visualization is something else again.

Still, it is a worthy hub - and from a very nice person, I suspect.

A great hub, Christine, and you make some great points about the many positive benefits and applications of using visualization. I was extremely fortunate to have been exposed to daydreaming at a very early age...I could never fully undertand why my mind would invariably wander whenever we had to write blackboards full of notes, within a specified time period in class as a kid. Man, it was torture to keep my mind from wandering but that was the education system in the 60' and 70's. My inabilty to concentrate on the topic at hand created no end of troubles with both teachers and parents, I can tell you....*shakes head*.Little did I know that this would give me an incredible "step up" on many people I knew when it came to using visualization creatively and for a specific just seemed natural and came very easily to me. A great hub, Christine...thanks for the reminder. I needed that today. I knew there was a reason I was one of your fans...hehe. Blessings.

I live my life with this power and know for a fact that we call things into our lives by thinking. I just do not feel that most people realize how powerful it is.Thank you for writing about it.

Great Hub, it is true we should drive all the negative feelings out with visualization. I read Vincent Pearle "Power of Positive Thinking" once it is also a great book.
