Tattoos are sacred to most people. (The people who don't believe that should not be getting tattooed.) They are no different for me. My favorite tattoos are my own because they all have some close personal meaning for me. I currently have four of them and you and my disapproving mother can rest assured that I will be getting more. :)
I think many people are enamored with the edginess and "rock'n'roll-ish" stigma that comes with the territory of being tattooed. However, the best tattoos are the ones that tell a story. I personally love portrait tattoos. I am in complete awe of great portrait artists. I have such a reverence for them. I do not have a portrait tattoo, but I hope to get one someday.
I guess I'm an equal-opportunity tattoo liker. My favorite tattoos besides my own are simply the great tattoos. It's such a fascinating art form and the great tattoo artists are like Salvador Dali, Picasso, Monet and Rembrandt to me. Your preferences may vary for what you decide to get tattooed on your own skin, but even if a great tattoo isn't your style, you can't help but be enthralled by it and in awe of it.
