I'll be happy to answer your question about the top 5 places to visit on The Isle of Wight. Of course it depends on what kind of things you like to do but here's my 5.
1 Shanklin. Now this includes the old village with all the thatched tea rooms and inns, Shanklin Chine which leads down to a wonderful old thatched inn on the beach and which has stunning views around the bay to Sandown.
2 The Needles and Alum Bay. Just stunning.
3 Culver Down. From this high point on the island, you can see all around the island from high up and view the towns of Shanklin and Sandown on one side and across to Portsmouth on the other. On a clear day it's fantastic.
4 All along the south coast of the island from Ventnor, St Lawrence, Niton, Blackgang, Brighstone and along to Freshwater. It is wild and unspoilt and the scenery is beautiful.
5 Blackgang Chine is for the children really, and provides everything they could wish for. A great day out.
I think I'll write a hub about the island tomorrow.
