How's the weather in Lisbon ?
If you were lucky enough to have attended biology courses
in high school, you just read your books again about
Spontaneous generation vs Evolution theories
somewhere in the manual, it must be explained
with the basic principles
check out google on this term "spontaneous generation"
and you'll be inevitably driven to evolution articles.
I give you an excerpt I find funny :
quote from : http://biology.clc.uc.edu/courses/bio114/spontgen.... (simple, interesting page)
Every year in the spring, the Nile River flooded areas of Egypt along the river,
leaving behind nutrient-rich mud that enabled the people to grow that year’s crop of food.
However, along with the muddy soil, large numbers of frogs appeared that weren’t around in drier times.
Conclusion: It was perfectly obvious to people back then that muddy soil gave rise to the frogs.
you can easily do the research by yourself, I think
and this also entering "evolution basic principles" on Google (simple, short, bibliography indicated)
Hope this is a good start.
