For me, I look at #1 price, #2 build quality, #3 specs. Combine all three and you have the overall value. Buying something like a refurbished laptop (http://www.cheetahdeals.com/Refurbished_Laptops_s/... provides tons of value because it has a low price and relatively decent quality and specs. You could buy a new MacBook Pro and gain the same value while spending three times as much. Hmm.. hah. I guess I mean, then, you should maybe look at your applications, too, and then figure out how much it's worth to you to have a computer doing that, and then settle on the appropriate value.
