Top 5 Things I Used to Earn Money Online.

Updated on February 12, 2020

Few friends of mine wanted me to share with them the few tricks I used to make money online, so I made this hub to answer all their question

A few of my friends asked how I made money online and answering this same question over and over again has been a bit annoying. So I decided to make a hub about it, so I can share it with my friends on Facebook and Twitter.
If you are here, you most likely want to know the things you need to get started to making money or at least you first dollar online.
These items I am about to mention worked for me. It is ok if you disagree with some of them or even all. Just thought I should tell my story a little about my experience online.

1. Laptop

Yeah, you do need a device to surf the internet. Or to do something that will earn you money. Some of my friends use mobile phones, but for me, it's a little difficult using a phone. Plus I am incredibly slow typing on an android phone. I used this to type and write articles for websites like;

  1. Hub pages
  2. Money Pantry
  3. Funds for Writers

I also used Wattpad. I am currently writing a novel which I intend to publish on Amazon. The trick for me was that I enjoyed writing. Of course, earning some cash doing what you love is great, but you need to be patient and consistent.

Just in case you have money, purchasing a laptop may be a wiser decision to make than buying a pair of expensive shoes.

2. Youtube

I am sure you have come across so many articles or clips that made mention of the possibilities of making money from YouTube. You can indeed earn money from YouTube, although it might take a long time. Say a year or two. You need a thousand subscribers and 4000 watch time within a year to start earning from YouTube.

If you are a video person, you will love YouTube. I made money from YouTube by contacting YouTube creators and asking if they needed a writer. Most of those channels I contacted are channels that created comedy videos. The way YouTube supported me to make money is simple. I watch relevant videos of how to make money online. Most of what I stumbled upon was quite amazing.

3. Book and Pen

I am sure some of you are going to hate me for this. I always make sure to keep with me a book, or at least a piece of paper and a pen. Why? Because I don't know where or when the big inspiration or idea will come.

It may not be necessary for some people, but I pretty think everyone may need it not to forget that big picture in mind.

My junior brother is more a programmer and always go out with a book and pen. According to him, "at times I may find it difficult to remember a design the way I thought of it."

You may need it if you are any of the guys below.

  1. Writer
  2. Programmer
  3. Researcher
  4. Musician
  5. Poet

Even my friend who buys and sells domain uses it. So, make sure you go around with your notepad and pen or pencil intact.

4. Unsplash

Some people make money uploading their photos to websites. There are so many sites you can upload your photos and earn from. I only used free images from UN-SPLASH for my hubs.

5. Asking for it (donation)

Asking for the support of my audience was another way I made money.

I only had to log into PayPal and made a donate button.

You can start by signing in to PayPal, then creating the donate button.

The video below gives a guide on how you can do this.

As I said, these are just the five apps and gadgets I used to earn money online. Everyone has a different experience and yours might differ from mine.

Haha....To be honest, even latest smart phones can not give satisfaction of writing on a paper with pen!

That is my favourite point too, Avinash. I once forgot my pen at home and was really mad at my self. Reason being that I could not recall what I wanted to write about when I got home.

I agree with your third point. Its very important to pen down your ideas as soon as they come in your mind, otherwise they will fly away...

      Good article...
