Are Loan Companies Safe and Accredited?

Updated on October 1, 2012

This is something everyone is thinking about. When searching for a loan company you want to know whether the company is accredited or not. You will not want to go with the first company that you find. When searching Google for “cash advance short term payday loan” you will get an assortment of legitimate companies mixed with bad companies just looking to send a lot SPAM to your Inbox.

When searching for an accredited loan agency you are going to want the best possible deal for yourself, one that will not take you long to repay, even after they have added their interest. Loan companies are not out to get you by tricking you with a good looking website or storefront, then hitting you with a high interest rate or mislead you. Loan companies are there to provide you with a service that will help you and make them money. We all know companies exist that will do these things, so we want to make sure to avoid this. Sadly, the bad companies seem to be more widely advertised, especially on the internet, and that is not good news for the consumer.

Companies like this are usually fake, or mock. They are only there for the sole purpose of tricking a consumer to obtain information, get the customer, lure them in, SPAM their Inbox, sell their information, and mislead you. If you miss a payment, or you are late, they will hit you with a higher interest, causing you a higher payment for months to come. This is why consumers need to be cautious when dealing with cash advance companies and need to do their homework before deciding which company they should go with.

All loan companies will have an interest; it’s how they stay in business. Check the Better Business Bureau for starters. They can give you feedback and a rating of the customer. Various online rip-off reports can be useful, but take them with a grain of salt. Sometimes it’s just an angry customer who did not read the fine print and got themselves into trouble and need someone to blame.

Talk to your friends and family if you are seeking out a temporary fix to your current money situation. See if they have ever gone for one, or perhaps they know someone who has. You might be able to find a company that someone already has some experience with. It can be very helpful to get a recommendation from someone you trust.

Another great Hub. How true this can be when coming to these companies. I for one have fallen into these misleading traps on more than one occasion. They get your information sell it and then sometimes as in my situation they try to scam you saying you owe them money and call you and threaten to take legal action including putting you in jail. It's a hot mess with these companies. You are so right about researching before doing business. Great Hub!!
