Auto Insurance Quotes
How much do you pay for auto insurance?
Recently, I have been trying to comparison shop for the lowest auto insurance rates.
I have found the process to be obnoxiously frustrating. I went to consumer reports website and they recommend quicken loans insurance comparison page, but the link is dead.
They also suggest www.insweb.com which supposedly makes comparing rates easy. It was anything but.
I put in all kinds of information and was directed to several insurance company websites each of which required me to put in the same information (and more).
Years ago, the first insurance policy I bought was with Safe Auto for minimum coverage. The savings were not nearly as good as they advertised. Although lately they claim to be reducing rates.
For a long time, I used Progressive because a friend told me that I could not get a cheaper car insurance rate anywhere.
Years later, I was shocked to learn that my secretary paid less for full coverage than I paid for minimum liability. So I switched to GEICO and I paid a lot less.
When I had Progressive a few years ago I paid $84.83 per month for minimum liability coverage of my 2001 Mitsubishi Galant. I live in Columbus, Ohio I'm 35 years old and I have a decent driving record.
When I later switched to GEICO, I paid $36.05 per month for the same minimum coverage.
I was recently married and I now share a GEICO policy with my wife but I'm not sure what we're paying and for what coverages for both vehicles.
However, based on the difficulty finding any good sites that effectively compare insurance rates between companies. I decided to invite you to comment with your insurance rates.
I'm planning on contacting as many insurance companies as possible so I can put the insurance quotes on this site.
I'm interested to see what other people pay for insurance. Also, If anyone knows of a more efficient way to compare prices I'd like to know that too.
In the meantime: who is your insurance with? How much is the premium and deductible? What state are you in and how's your driving record? What kind of car do you drive?
No personal Identifiers please.
I'll update this site as I get more information.
