Fiverr Business Cards

Making Money on Fiverr

If you are interested in making extra cash and you own a computer, you need to check out Fiverr.com. What is it? It’s a Website that allows buyers to get all sorts of tasks done cheaply including article writing, blog posting, logo and web design, and even writing an e-book. The real beauty of Fiverr is the price. For the same price as a fancy schmancy coffee at Starbucks, you can have a web designer create a business card for you. And not some cheesy business card that you will be too embarrassed to pass out...a nice looking card that will stand out.

Sexy Photos Boost Fiverr Sales

Beyond that, how well you do as a seller is totally up to you. A sexy photo of yourself (or some glamorous model) is one way sellers reel buyers in. Yes, Fiverr does clearly state that you are only supposed to use photos that you have the legal rights to…but I’m not sure that rule is very well enforced.

For $5 on Fiverr.com you can have your logo or product modeled by a scantily clad woman.

Getting Started Selling on Fiverr...

You only need two things to start making money on Fiverr:

  • An email address
  • A Paypal account

Make that three things...you also need your product or service.

Graphic Design on Fiverr

If you have graphic design experience, you can offer your services on Fiverr.com. You can create 1 or 2 custom business card designs for your buyer. As an extra you can offer to print and ship the cards. Or you can offer other products like address stamps, letterhead, product brochures, etc. If you offer a quick turnaround time and quality designs, you will do well on Fiverr.

Article Writer for SEO Optimized Content Article Writer for SEO Optimized Content

Maintaining a blog or a website requires cranking out high quality content that readers will devour. Be sure to state how many words the articles will contain. One popular seller has a gig that offers 500 word articles on any subject. I offer 700 word articles to provide buyers with more quality writing for the money. If you are interested in content writing, make sure you write the words yourself. There are several brands of article spinning software on the market, but the results do not sound human. Do adequate research and write high quality posts. Your work will be in great demand as your feedback score climbs and you receive positive reviews.

Adding Extras to Your Gigs

Each seller can list 20 gigs on Fiver. Within each gig, you have the opportunity to boost your sales by offering the buyer additional extras which complement their order. You definitely want to offer these extras with your gig because buyers are already making a purchase and will likely buy some of your extras. Think of these like a car dealership offers “extras” when you are buying a new car. Those extras at the dealership are definitely more costly. Sure, a basic gig on Fiverr is five bucks but a seller can offer:

Speedy delivery 1 or 2 days Add $5 or $10

Two High Quality Photos with your article $5

Write a Short E-book 30 pages long $60

Design Covers For E-Books

Every day Amazon adds thousands of Kindle E-books to its website. Think about all the potential clients you can get with this gig. You will need to purchase software to create the covers. Don't even think about doing this gig with the free software available for making e-book covers. Buyers want a really good-looking cover design at an affordable price.

Design a portfolio of e-book covers so buyers can see the range of your designs. There is a great tutorial showing you how to make 3-D E-book covers on YouTube in just ten minutes. If you really want to do well with this gig, offer two or 3 choices for the buyer to pick from.

Adding a Video to Your Fiverr Pitch

Sellers can also upload a video describing their service for buyers. This helps buyers feel more comfortable ordering from you. If you film your video with a smartphone, make sure you hold the phone horizontally. Otherwise your video will be removed from the listing, which is exactly what happened to me. I tried shooting the video several times but kept blanking out as soon as I pressed the record button, then finally got one good video, only to have it pulled from the listing.

Uploading a video will help increase your sales. Buyers want to be sure they are dealing with a reputable seller. Any type of assurance you can offer that helps them to trust you is recommended.

How Many Gigs Should You List?

Start slowly so you can learn how the market works on Fiverr. I recommend starting with four or five gigs. If you already work part-time or full-time, you want to focus your main energy on your regular job. Look at Fiverr as a way to supplement your income. Focus initially on building up your feedback and creating high quality gigs.

There is a method for preventing negative feedback on Fiverr. Before a buyer has an opportunity to post negative feedback, you can cancel the transaction. Buyers definitely look to see how many reviews a seller has and what their feedback score is. To be a top-rated seller, you need to void negative feedback at all costs.

Yes, I sometimes have to edit photos multiple times before I get the right size for fiverr.

Fiverr is nitpicky about picture sizes...wish they would change that!!!

I tried to get on Fiverr, but for some reason it would not allow me to upload an icon, and would not let me proceed without one. Finally I just gave up because it seemed like too much trouble. Too bad, it sounds as if it might be profitable. Great hub!

Great idea about using a cat photo for your gig cover...cats are much better than barely dressed girls...I will test out your idea on my next gig. Thanks!

I have managed on fiverr without sexy photos, although I do incorporate pets into some of my gig photos. A couple of people have ordered my libertarian editorial gig because they liked my cat. You never know what will work until you try!
