Catching Up Is So Hard To Do

Updated on December 14, 2010

Time To Make An Assessment

When we take time in our lives to see where we stand

Sometimes we are not where we want to be

We have fallen behind in school work, chores, college courses that are needed in a degree, cleaning around the home, car repairs, bills, appointments and duties at work

The list is endless

We all of a sudden want to catch up and are tired of being late

We are like a cat chasing our tail

Round and round we go

Where she stops nobody knows (I heard that line many times at the amusement games as a kid)

I loved it then and I love it now

How is it we didn't see it coming ?

Why couldn't we of made the right choices and not be in such a predicament

Are we living life in the fast lane and speeding through life without enjoying it fully ?

As each day passes we try to gain ground

New problems and choices arise and to our surprise we are busier than ever

We make silent promises to ourselves and try to find away to make things different

Do we forget about yesterdays troubles and start new today ?

By listing things by priority it helps put things in perspective

But it doesn't bring us any closer to our goals

Certain things have to be done while other things can wait

Maybe we can close our eyes and pretend no list is needed

No that won't work

That is like trying to wash clothes and mixing the towels and the darks together

Lint usually covers a good shirt or blouse

Then we have to spend more time trying to make it right

Unless you didn't check the pockets then you have one big mess

Because now there is kleenex everywhere

Life is about getting things done

How about those things that never quite make it to the table

They bounce from place to place

Each time trying to leave their mark

If we try our best and keep a sense of humor

There might be a way

To make today an awesome day

Do those things that will give you the most satisfaction now and rewards in the future

It is not easy with so many choices at your fingertips

Remember to enjoy where you are at each moment

In time things will make more sense and you will have learned how to make the most of the time you have

Good luck and maybe our paths will cross

We will find we are having fun with our struggles and the work we finish daily

Some how our progress is in learning not in finishing every task we undertake

Keep high spirits and always take pride in what we accomplish and have a great respect for all the things we have tried

Life is a journey and we are not bears who can go in a cave to hibernate for the winter and cast our problems aside

Because sooner or later they will have to be handled with care

Those things we didn't finish or find a way to grin and bear

What a nice point you made...about doing what will give you the most satisfaction now? Like you said there are so many things to do, it is hard at times to discern which ones to do first? I think this clue, helps to cipher out which are the least important! Great read, thank you!

Those little things that need to be done pile up and weigh on the shoulders. It's hard to overcome them, but very important. :)
