Coupon Mom: How to Create a Stockpile and is it worth it? Part Two

Updated on April 28, 2012

Have you ever seen photos of people’s stockpiles and wondered how they got it – or just how much they spent? Well, today I am opening up my hall closet to show you my stockpile and tell you how I got it and how much I spent; and give you instructions on how you can do this too.

I have been working on my stockpile for about 6 months. I have spent a total of 188.96 on the items pictured and listed, while if I had bought them at regular price I would have spent 1625.87. Here I will list exactly what is in my stockpile closet, what I actually paid after sales and coupons, and what I would have paid if I had bought it at regular price. I will not list the sales and coupons used because they would not help you anyway since coupons expire and the sales are over. But if I did it, if I found these sales and coupons so can you. This is totally doable. The proof is below:

cloverleaffarm, part one of this series explains stockpiling more in depth, but really what it comes down to is saving money over a period of time. I stockpile non-perishable items to last 2 years, and perishable items to last to the expiration date or 2 years, which ever comes first. I go through a deodorant stick about every two months so 11 (it was 12 but I used one) is a good number. Also, many of these things go into care packages that are sent to soldiers or family members. Nothing gets wasted, and a lot of money gets saved!

I don't understand stockpiling. It sounds like a form of hoarding. Why does anyone need so many bottles of deodorants?
