What Everyone Needs To Know About Discount Codes

Updated on August 12, 2012

There are plenty of ways to save money that do not require much effort. Shopping online not only provides you with a convenient way to browse, but also connects you to thousands of products that may not be available in your area. Using discount codes does not require users to waste time signing up for services or ask for emails. It's easy, fast and will save you money! Lets face it, we are all looking for ways to save money, and this simple guide will show you how to save anywhere from 20 to 30% on online purchases, or even free shipping! is a great website that will give you a success rate (and expiration date) of each discount code! is a great website that will give you a success rate (and expiration date) of each discount code! | Source

There Are Two Easy Ways to Use Discount Codes

The first way, and probably the easiest is to go to any search engine (I prefer Google) and enter the name of the company you want to make a purchase from and the words “discount codes” (for example: American Eagles discount codes). You are going to receive multiple websites that provide you access to different codes, and some even give you a success rate for that particular code. My personal favorite is . If you click on the coupon option-- and enter the name of the company you’re looking to purchase from -- you’ll receive great offers. In order to make sure the coupon is valid, go to the website you’re wanting to make a purchase from and at checkout enter the discount (or promo) code. If you see the cost of the purchase reduce it has been successfully added. I have used this process for years and have found that great offers are normally available for American Eagle, Hollister Co., Old Navy, and many more!

The second option is similar to the first. You would still go to your search engine and enter the name of the company and the words “discount codes.” Once you find a code that you want to use you could possibly see a new browser open, loading that particular company’s website. The promotion code will already be added-- all you need to do is pick your items! I prefer to use the first option-- because I find myself needing to re-add all the times I want purchase again.

Discount Codes Work Great For Other Types Of Companies Too!

These processes work great for restaurants too! Anytime I order food online I always search the pizza place or restaurant to see if there are any discount codes available. Most of the time I can get at least $5.00 off of a purchase or something added for free. Again, just enter the name of the restaurant and the words "discount codes" and you'll be racking up the savings too!

A lot of people don't realize that you can get coupon codes for things like Redbox! It's really simple to get a free movie. All you have to do is follow the same instructions as above, just search for "Redbox discount codes." Some codes are only available to use at specific stores, such as Walgreen's and Kroger, while other codes are more general and can typically be used at any Redbox location. You will usually find that these coupon codes will only work once per credit or debit card, but to really cash in on the savings, reuse the coupon codes with a different card to get even more free movies!

It's very likely that you've shopped and bought things from Amazon, but have you taken advantage of their coupon codes? Using websites like Amazon allow you to have a wide variety of products to choose from, some of which you may not be able to find coupons for. The great thing about Amazon is that you can always find general coupons for their website, such as: free shipping, free products and/or trials, free memberships, and percent off coupons for entire orders. By simply using these coupon codes, you can start saving tons of money!

So far I've told you about clothing coupons, food coupons, movie coupons, and even Amazon coupons, but that's not all there is. With discount and promo codes, it's possible to find savings on virtually everything you purchase online. It never hurts to do a quick search to see what kind of money you could be saving.
