Get Paid to Answer Your Phone

Updated on November 13, 2008

Imagine the hundreds of phone calls you receive and the possibility of getting paid for each one. It only takes a few minutes to sign up and the best part is that it is absolutely FREE.

Brring has a revolutionary service that allows users to make money every time someone calls. It is simple to join, requires no software or downloads, and serves you when you answer the phone. It is excited to share this opportunity with you as I think it has great potential for anyone who owns a phone. To my knowledge there are no other services quite like this. I will attempt to discuss the main features I have found, but as brring is still in its beta phase, these may change over time.

How Brring Works

When you sign up, you select a three digit area code of your choice. A list of phone numbers then becomes available. At this point, choose a number you like as it will be yours for life. People will always have a way to contact you even if your personal phone number changes.

Now that you have a phone number it must be activated by following the steps given on the website. When the phone is activated, you can start making money.

When people call your new number, they connect with Brring, who will then share a short, ten second ad. Once the ad is finished, your personal phone will begin to ring. You answer the phone as usual and your account is credited with the money you have just earned.

Easy Money

  1. Share Your Number - Simply give your new number out to friends, family, coworkers and anyone else. Brring makes this easy to do and will even send a personalized email or voice message. In fact they pay you just to share your new number.
  2. Invite Friends - Receive $1 for each friend who joins. Every time you call each other you are helping them make more money.
  3. Personalize Your Ads - If you profile your friends so that the ads they hear are more to their liking, you can earn $0.75 per profile.

Undoubtedly, the easiest thing to do is receive calls and earn money slowly, but with a little extra effort, you can make more. The payout starts once you have made $10. This is not a hard thing to do as it only requires your first ten phone calls.

Once your account is activated you have the option to choose a personalized ringtone from their selection or upload an mp3 of your choice. This will be heard after the ad is played as you are being contacted at your current phone number.

If there is someone you do not want to hear your ads, such as an employer or your great aunt, you can simply have them call you on your personal number.

Brring has set up a way for groups to raise money too. There must be a minimum of two people to use the group function. One person signs up for the service and sets up an account link for their group. They share the link with the other members of the group who then sign up, earning $1 per person for the group.

Group members can then determine how much of their earnings they wish to pledge towards the group up to 100%. Calls are made as normal and the group makes money.

If 50 people signed up and each person referred another 5, the group would have a total of $300. Add in the phone calls that are pledged to the group and there could be some serious cash profits.

Thanks for your comment Wendy. I have heard that, and can attest to it myself. After cashing out twice, and still no payments, I have had enough. They recently changed their methods of doing things and are no longer offering the same benefits they once did. Now it is simply a free "ringback" service.

My comment on Brring? it is. I, TOO, ahd Brring, for a while. It's been a year now, since I 'cashed out' for $30.00. Haven't seen a payment yet. I beleive, with out a doubt, that Brring is another one of those scams. After I made a complaint with the site, I was told I could no longer 'log in'. Hopefully people won't fall into the same scam I did.

I would also like to note that they have paid out more than $10,000! Although it takes them some time to get those payments out to the members, they are coming. More info :

They've recently changed some of their policies which makes the system a little different, but generally the same. Giving your private number will let them forward the call to your phone. I have yet to "profile" friends, but they say they will pay $0.75 per profile. It does ask for their number so that they can play relevant adds when that person calls.

Unfortunately, the best part about the program was that they used to pay every time your number was dialed. They changed that policy and have reverted to only paying for inviting friends to join, profiles, and sharing your brring number with others via their software.

I have liked it since I do not have a local phone number where I live now and when I want I can give out my brring number as a local phone. Hopefully that helps a little.

More specifically I mean do I have to put in whoever is calling me on the share numbers page before I get credit for them calling me? I have had many calls this morning because I do alot of online surveys and things, and haven't gotten paid for any of them, it just says that they listened to the add, but thats it.

I was wondering if you have to share your number in order to get paid for it. The site really doesn't explain it. Do you get paid for Every call you get?

They have been a little slow on payment, but the first is in the mail. If for nothing else, it is nice to have a number I can give out when I want to keep my personal number private.

Rightly said Bible Studies. When I want those creditors to have my number, that is what I give them. I only give my family and friends the real number to bypass the ads. It works really well actually. Both numbers still work and can be used by anybody. It's really a great feature.

Sounds good, but the problem is that everyone I know would get ticked off at having to listen to an ad before talking with me. We are already bombarded by ads, and we don't really need to be bombarded another way.

The only way it might work without getting family and friends upset is if all your creditors, people asking for donations, and trying to sell you a new home based business had the number. hehe. Hey at least you would get something out of it. How to get it in those people's hands. Muhahaha
