How To Put a PayPal Button on Your Website or Blog

Adding PayPal to Your Website

When you want to start trading on the internet, it is important to look around and see which services are going to make your business simple and efficient.

There are many different types of trading accounts, but the easiest and most cost effective one for people starting out is PayPal.

PayPal is very easy to use and the only information that you need to send money to someone is an email address. You can conveniently send an invoice to an email account, which is very useful for services like eBay and Amazon, should you decide to trade on these, or similar sites.

There is a small percentage charge for using the service, which is taken off each transaction. This rate is pretty much standard across the industry.

You can transfer money from one currency to another, by specifying which currency the money is to arrive at the other end. This is a much better way of buying international books or services, for example, than trying to send the money via a bank, as this is much more expensive, and is quite a complicated procedure.

Unlike the banking industry that can take up to 5 days to send money abroad, one of the advantages of PayPal is that the transfer is instant.

You can link your PayPal account to your current or checking account, and this way, you can electronically transfer the money you receive into your PayPal account to your personal bank account as soon as you receive it.

Having a PayPal account also enables you to easily shop online as it provides a safe way to transfer money both domestically and abroad.

As the banks in the UK are talking about becoming cheque free within the next few years, it may be a good idea to start looking at a way to conveniently and safely buy and sell on line. PayPal offer a secure transaction and protects your financial information with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems.

PayPal is very cost effective for those industries like service, where you get paid by the hour, or by the piece. Examples of this would be free-lance writers, or distance healers, where your bank charges for each cheque banked. With PayPal, you can control when you transfer the money to your bank, and thus transfer it on a weekly basis, or monthly if you choose, and thus reduce your banking fees.

If you don’t already have an account Sign Up Here

Once you have signed up, PayPal has many tips and tools to enable you to find their services easily. The tabs are labelled as follows:

My Account. This is for all transactions you have made or that have been sent to you.

Send Money. This is where you can pay for goods and services and send money to other people.

Request Money. This is where you can send an invoice to someone, even if they do not have a PayPal account.

Merchant Services. This is where you can set up a PayPal button on your website or blog.

Choose Set Up Your Payment Solution, and decide if you would like a single button or multiple buttons for different purposes.

An example of a single button is- Here - on this page, I put the same button twice.

An example of multiple buttons is here- Here - scroll to the bottom of the page.

You can set up a button for Subscriptions and Gift vouchers, and Donations.

The process for all of the above is the same.

Choose a button type. If you are unsure, click the Which Button Should I Choose? on the right hand side, and you will be given an example of all the different types available.

Name your Item- I.e. Angel Reading, Script Writing and set a price and a currency.

You can customize the button and add drop down menus if you would like to, and there are examples to show you what they would look like.

You can also choose a smaller button, change the words to Pay Now, and decide not to have the credit card logos if you wish to.

Step 2 is where you can track inventory, and profit and loss if you wish to, and I recommend you always save the button for another time.

Step 3 is where you can customize a few further features, if you choose to and they are all self explanatory.

And then you press Create Button.

Once you have created your button, and checked that it is what you wanted, simply copy the HTML code they give you and put it on your website. It is possible to create unlimited buttons, so if you do not like what you have created, go back and start the procedure again until you are happy.

As your business transactions increase, it will become necessary to search for a cheaper way of processing money on your site. Merchant banks generally offer the best facility for this so as your business turn over increases, start to compare the two services and decide when it is the right time for you to move to merchant banking.

PayPal also offers exclusive discounts with large retailers and other benefits. What are you waiting for? Start improving your business potential today...
