Free Stuff Online: Tips and Sites

Updated on February 16, 2016

Free? Really?

Yes! Every day companies offer free stuff because they want you to try their products. Free samples are a big business these days and they're popular for many reasons. They allow you to try your favorite brands and new brands without spending any money. They're great for travel, gift baskets, college students or anyone on a tight budget!

You can go directly to company websites to see if they are offering anything free, but there's a better way. Freebie sites will round up all the latest freebies on the web for you, so you can find them all in one place!

Tips on Ordering Free Stuff

You want to be sure it's not a scam and that there's no 'catch', right? There are some things to keep in mind when ordering free stuff:

  1. Open a seperate email account just for your freebies. You can get a free account at AOL or Yahoo. You may get confirmation emails or mail from brands you get the freebies from. You want to keep this out of your main email account.
  2. NEVER give out a credit card number. No legitimate free offer will ever ask you for any sort of payment. There should be absolutely no strings attached. Occasionally, I will accept an offer where I have to pay a minimal shipping charge (I recently paid $1 for a pound of coffee), but more often than not, I skip these offers.
  3. You may be asked for a phone number. I, personally either skip these offers or use a fake number. You don't want to get sales calls.
  4. You may be required to "Like" a brand's Facebook page. This is okay, but know that you will see their ads on your page. You can always delete them once you get your freebie.
