Is Swagbucks Legit Or A Scam
For the short answer to the question my title poses, Swagbucks most definately is legit. They are one of the older point reward type sites in operation currently, and are by far the easiest site to earn from consistently, quickly, and without being dependent on getting referrals to earn well.
Basic Membership Rules
- Allows members from the US, UK, and Canada (except residents of Quebec)
- Must be 13 or older to join.
- Specifically allows multiple people in same house to have their own accounts. Very strict about only one account per person though.
Swagbucks has a ton of things you can do to earn points. There is a search engine that randomly rewards points up to three or four times per day if you search heavily. Be careful to only do real searches here though, I know several people from forums and chat rooms who have had their accounts suspended due to spamming random searches or in some cases trying to automate the process. The wins aren't hard to get while doing your normal searches throughout the day, and the search engine works quite well enough that you will rarely find yourself having to go elsewhere to find what you need. It has been weeks for me since I've needed to retry a search on google to find what I was after. They have by far the most effective paid to search engine of all the sites I use that have a search and win option.
As is generally the case with these types of point reward sites you can also do surveys, and you will find the same daily survey providers here that are available on most of the other sites as well. However Swagbucks doesn't stop there. They have a special section of the site called "Trusted Surveys" and this is where you will find the big earnings. The daily surveys found on offer walls which could also be done on other sites are generally quite long and don't pay nearly as well as the ones you will find under Trusted Surveys. As another bonus the payout amounts (which can range from 40 points to 250) are mostly based on how long a survey will take for you to complete. So while you can find some really long surveys here as well they will be paying quite a bit more than the daily ones would. Also there are quite quick ones that pay less points but only take a few minutes to complete.
There are also quite a few other ways to earn here, including videos, standard offer walls, even games that reward points. The staff also randomly reward members that leave comments on items in the store, or participate in facebook discussions with bonus points. And on most days they also give out more than one free point code that anyone who finds it can redeem if they catch it before it expires, which is usually a few hours after it's given out.
With all the ways to earn here I have managed to get 5 Amazon gift cards worth $5 each every month since I joined this site. If I worked even a little bit harder it would be quite possible to get more though I would have to cash out for a different value since they only allow 5 of the same item to be redeemed per month. So far I get my $5 cards ordered and then tend to slack off more than I should if I really want to earn big. Anyone who is less lazy than me (which should be anyone alive other than my sister) should find no difficulty beating the $25 per month I earn here.
For those of you like myself that have a hard time getting referrals in the first place, this is definitely the site for you. Referrals can help if you can get them consistently, and if they search a lot. The only earnings from referrals is from their search wins. When your referral wins points while searching you get the same amount, but only up to a maximum of 1000 points per referral. Getting the 5 x $5 cards you can order in a month is 2,250 points so 1000 while a decent amount, won't be a game changer for you, and after you have earned that amount of matching points you no longer get points from that referral at all.
