June was a very busy month for me, as I picked wild strawberries at the beginning of the month, old classes ended and new ones began, and now we’re picking the wild raspberries that are just beginning to ripen in the woods behind our trailer. And by the way; does anybody have any recipes that include raspberries that you wouldn’t mind sharing? However, I still found time to hunt for freebies, and am receiving more and more each day. I have also added a few new categories to my list of reviews. They are: the strangest freebies I have received, the worst freebies, and the hardest to get. And next month I’ll be adding; the ones I never got.
The strangest freebie I received in June was the Dr. Scholl’s Free Insole offer. Just like the offer implied, I only received 1 insole. Oh well, my right foot is comfortable anyway. At least they did send me a $2.00 coupon so I can buy 1 for my left foot!
In the hardest to get category, the winner was the free sample of Snuggle Fabric Softener from LifeScript. I had to go through several steps and browse several other offers to get this one, and I am not sure I’ll even receive it because all they said at the end of the questionnaire was "thank you and come again."
The best freebie I received was the P&G Brand Sampler from Sam’s Club. I received 2 Pantene Shampoo & Conditioner samples, 1 sample pack of Cascade Extra Action, 1 sample pack of Bounce 4-in-1 (which works quite well), and a 1-day pass to Sam’s Club (soo cool). Number 2 in this category goes to ProGlide. They sent me a free Gillette Fusion Razor. I gave this one to my husband on Father's Day, and he loved it. The razor alone costs almost $10.00 at Walmart, but they also included a $3.00 coupon good for extra cartridges, and a $2.00 coupon good on any ProSeries Skin Care product (not bad for a freebie!). Another good one in this category was the BBQ sanples I sent for from Bull's Eye. Although the offer was closed, they still sent me a $1.00 coupon, just for visiting their site (how nice).
And now for the GRAND FINALE!! The winner in the worst category went to PoPtarts Sprinklings from the Kellogg Company in Battle Creek, Michigan. I sent for this offer back in March, but did not receive it until last week. The pop tarts were smashed to bits and they were inedible. However, the birds and squirrels loved them, so I guess this offer was not a total flop!
Other free stuff I received in June included 2 samples of Pantene shampoo and conditioner already packaged in an attractive black box with a purple ribbon, free coloring books and Disney posters for the grandkids, dog food, address labels, a coupon for a free flame disk, a calendar, Ritz Crackerfuls, downloadable stories, free virus protection, True Lemon samples, books, lotions, cents off coupons, and more.
Well, I’ve got to go and do something with the raspberries my husband picked this morning, check and see what fantastic freebies I’ve received in the mail today, go to the Dollar General store, cook dinner, and do my home work, and if I have time I may do a couple of surveys for Vindale Surveys, so I’ll see all of you next time. Hope you all have a great time at all the 4th of July celebrations, and Happy Freebie Hunting!
I’ve joined another Freebie site. It’s called Hip2Save, and it seems quite promising. I’ll have to tell you all about it next time. Until then, stay safe and be happy. Oh yea, before I forget, while you're waitng for all your free stuff to arrive, go on over to http://www.viewpoints.com and see what GrannyDollars has to say.
