Make Money Online While You Sleep

Updated on September 16, 2009

Someone once told me in a very southern accent, “Boy, you aren’t wealthy unless you are making money while you’re asleep”. – A very rich oil and gas-man from Gina Louisiana cited this. But what he said has a lot of truth to it. The clock does not limit you when to make money online unless all your niche websites are geared to banker’s hours.

You have to step out of yourself and become a little bit of every Internet surfers personalities and think like they do. When it comes to searching people do things at different times of the day. The following are some examples of when people search for what – This is just a guide and not solid fact but it will help you tweak your thoughts about creating content to create your “making money online” vocation.

Early Morning –

a. News (God knows why since it’s all depressing).
b. Weather – Planning your day and what to wear.
c. Recipes – What’s for Dinner Tonight
d. Meditation or Spiritual Reading
e. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace

Mid Morning -

a. Mortgages – Refinancing
b. Job Search – Because your boss just made you mad.
c. Free Online Games – You needed to shoot something besides your co-workers.
d. Digg, Stumble Upon – just killing time in your cubicle until lunch time.
e. Payday Loans – Your kid needs to go to the doctor and your savings is tapped.

Lunch Time –

a. Free Online Games – You need some me time.
b. Vacation – I have to get away from this place – Belize, Cancun, etc.
c. Movies – What’s playing at the Theater – Need to take the wife out tonight.
d. Online restaurant reviews – where to eat before the movies.
e. Cheap Car Insurance – My auto insurance is up for renewal what are my options.
f. Alcohol Rehab Centers – My brother needs help where should he go for rehab?
g. Audio Books – I want the latest top ten best seller to lose myself after work.

Evening –

a. Birthday Gift Ideas – Mom’s birthday is next month.
b. Kitchen Remodel – It’s been twenty years and I am sick of this kitchen.
c. Real Estate – The kids are grown and gone and we need a smaller home.
d. Recipes – Plan the next week dinner plans.
e. Coupons – Save some money with online grocery coupons.
f. Online Dating – My husband left me and it’s time move on.
g. Depression – My father passed away – how do I deal with a death in the family.
h. Music – The kids are asleep and I want to get my grove on.
i. Sleep – It’s 2 AM and I am wide-awake – I have to get up in 3 hours. How do I go to sleep now?

I am sure depending on your age you can come up with more ideas than this to make money online – but this is what I think that surfers contend with online during their day. The weekends are different – People will be looking for new homes, real estate, relocation information, vacations, and financial planning for retirement.

Younger surfers will be looking for other things – like how get rid of acne, skin care products, $250.00 jeans, cell phone bling, etc. A great resource is to see what teens are looking for and talking about. People are easy to figure out about what they want and need. Just be a people watcher at the mall – and online and you will figure it out and be able to write the needed content about it.

      Thanks Wesley,

That's a compliment that you thought it was a sales landing page - I never been very good at those LOL! Again Thanks and hope it helps.

Cool, I thought this would be a sales page but I was pleasantly surprised to see all the useful information about optimization. Thanks for pointing these things out.

Thanks for bringing this up - my websites only seem to get attention on the weekends and up to 3pm on weekdays. Mostly Real Estate blogs.
