Make Profits from Photos Like This!

If you're an aspiring artist, or even just an artist by hobby, DeviantArt is a website you won't want to miss. With a free DeviantArt Account, you'll be able to setup an extensive online portfolio and gain access to valuable insight from thousands of other amateur artists like yourself. I should also mention that DeviantArt offers a full printing service that rewards users by paying a commission every time your art is sold. That's right! Loose photographs, drawings and even paintings can be turned into cold hard cash. If you want to make money with DeviantArt, stick close as I show you how you can get started today.

Is DeviantArt Right For Me?

So how in the world do you even know if you want to setup an account with DeviantArt? Well, first off, if you're an artist, or just love amateur art, you're on the right track. DeviantArt is basically built from the ground up from self-aspired artists and would be nothing without them. Secondly, if you want to expose the world to your art, DeviantArt has the power to do so. If on the other hand you are a hermit and like to covet your work, I wouldn't recommend signing up.

Do I have to be a professional to sign up?

Hardly! I'm one of those artists by hobby kind of people and I maintain a gallery at DeviantArt. In fact, all the photographs you see in this hub are also part of my gallery!

How to Make Money at DeviantArt -

With your free account at DeviantArt, you'll be rewarded every time you artwork is sold. You, the artist, gets paid a commission of the sale simply because it is your artwork. DeviantArt collects the rest of the profit because they process, print and ship your order to the paying customer. It's really no fuss money for the artist, but as with every Internet venture, more visitors equal more chances for profit. Keeping in mind the techniques shown below will help you to maintain steady traffic and profits.

  • Update Frequently - If you're really serious about being an artist, especially a photographer, upload new art pieces as often as possible. There are a lot of photos out there all competing for views. The more often you produce art, the more often people will be viewing it!
  • Enter Contests - I'm always amazed by the amount of internal contests that DeviantArt hosts. There are official contests and then there are smaller contests hosted by individual users. Putting your entry into both types of contests will further enhance your visibility and increase your traffic. Not to mention, some of the contests offer cash prizes if you win!
  • Be Active - The only way to gain a following is to go out there and get it. I look at it this way: "If you want people to notice you, you have to notice them first." This applies to both the internet community and your physical community. Use DeviantArt as an online warehouse filled with your artwork! Get the word out there through email, blogs, business cards, word of mouth and whatever other means you can. People will always want to buy your art; they sometimes just don't know where to find it, MAKE SURE THEY DO!

Unfortunately, as with most internet profits, it takes some time to gain enough views to make a decent earning. There's always a chance to profit big! Profits will always reflect the amount of time and effort put forth by the artist. If you don't do much for yourself promotion wise, don't expect to ever profit. On the other hand, if you remain vigilant, enter your art in contests and constantly spread the word, you'll quickly gain a following and will soon be enjoying profits from your art.

Thank you for reading my article on how to make money with DeviantArt. If you would like to see more of my own art collection, you can visit my gallery at Please don't use my pictures illegally! If you wish to use them, just ask, I'd be glad to give permission.

Zenpropix - Thanks for your feedback. I hope you liked my gallery.

Danette Watt - I'm glad that you enjoyed my work. I'm more or less at Deviant art just to show off my art, not make money.
