Money is the Root of all Wealth

Updated on March 6, 2016

What you choose to do and not to do with your money will determine how deep your financial roots are, as well as how large and strong your money tree will grow over time. If you want your money roots to grow wealth, there are some important money lessons that you should remember and practice.

You may remember her as D.J. from the popular family show of the 80s and 90s, Full House, but Candace Cameron Bure is all grown up now and making sure her money is around for years and years to come. Although she's personally worth $12M and her husband, ex NHL player worth $10M himself, she sure doesn't spend like it.

Just because you can doesn't mean you have to.

In a recent interview, Candace was spotted wearing designer shoes from a luxury-clothing designer. When complimented on her shoe choice, Candace revealed that she purchased them from Nordstrom Rack (which carries designer clothing items for 50%-70% off of original retail prices). Why would a multimillionaire think twice about dropping $500 to $1200 on a pair of shoes? It's simple. Just because she can afford full price, doesn’t mean she has to. Think about it, if you can have the exact same shoe, does it really matter whether you spend $80 or $500? If you’re being smart about your money, it shouldn’t.

Get cash back.

If you do any shopping online, why not get money back on those purchases? Ebates has made it easy for you to do just that! Visit their website and sign up by clicking HERE, search the retailer you’d like to shop (from a list of 1,800), buy what you want and get money back. You could earn as much as 10% back on what you spend and receive your money as a check or deposited via PayPal.

Look for deals.

There are several places to shop in order to avoid the luxury designer price tag without sacrificing brand or quality. Whether you want to make money by reselling your luxury items or save some by shopping and buying luxury items, the online retailer, Tradesy, will provide you that platform at up to 70% off retail prices.
