SEO(Search Engine Optimization)Truths

On my other Hubpages I have outlined some Search Engine Optimization tips to help get your site ranked by Google. Since Google practically is the Internet I can't stress enough how important it is to you and your site to get ranked and the higher the better.

On my last Hubpage I detailed step by step how to get your site indexed by Google and please regard that as your starting point. However, it doesn't end there as there are many other search engines you need to consider.

The more you get ranked by the better your chances of getting more traffic to your site. A partial list includes Yahoo, Alta Vista, Dogpile,, MSN, Lycos and Bing. On each site you'll find an area for webmasters and it is there that it will give you directions on how to get the site to crawl your site.

Google still has the most comprehensive webmaster/sitemanager information on the Web so I suggest going there and doing a little reading before you do any of the above. The information you can learn from reading these pages is endless and will only help you when you go to these other sites.

So lets recap. Go to Google and visit the Webmaster/Sitemanager area and read as much as you can about Search Engine Optimization. Once you feel you have it down pretty good go to each site I've listed above and go to the webmaster area so you can enter your URL. Now as I said before this list is just a partial list so do a little searching and find as many as you can and do the same to each site.

Also, most cities have local business websites where you can also add your URL and let people in your geographical area know about you. Word of mouth is another great form of advertising and it doesn't cost a cent.
