Why study in trade school?
SACRIFICE LEADS TO SUCCESS
It touches my heart when I see people from all walks of life wherein in spite of difficulties and hardship in life they have still the spirit and faith to struggle that someday they will have the chance to make their life easier by completing their studies and become a successful person in the community that they live in.
Some people tend to do things even to the extent that they will lose their dignity and self respect by doing things in bad and in shortcut ways to reach their goals in life and later become parasites to the society. Some even committed crimes affecting innocent people lives just to earn the easy money.
But some people are not.
The story that I will share has inspired me and these boy has given me a legacy that till now during my darkest hours keeps me moving to go in living.
Financed self to Trade School
I once knew a boy in our neighborhood wherein at younger age he has lost his father to lean on. Due to the hardship in life of his mother who depends only on her earnings in washing and ironing clothes to feed her children has no choice but to turn over her son to his relatives in the city to work for them as a houseboy for which in return they will support his schooling.
He has to do all the house chores before going and after coming from the school. He was not even permitted to visit his mother and younger sister during the closing of the school.
Without the knowledge of his relatives he has learned to improvise himself by selling newspapers in the busy sidewalks of the city just to earn a little amount to purchase for him nice clothes and domestic things that he needed.
Because of his enthusiasm and initiatives to complete his studies, he was able to pass a scholarship exams granted by the government for a special training courses in a trade school sponsored by the France government.
Later on after completing his special trainings, he was employed in a local company in the city and while working, through his minimum wages he has supported himself to finish his college education, after graduating from the university and gaining enough experience in the local company that he had worked. He decided to apply and work overseas. Because of his experience in the field of his expertise he was consecutively promoted and became a successful worker in the government that owned Oil Company in the Middle East. And in return for the blessings that he is receiving, he was able to grant special scholarships to deserving kids whose parents cannot manage to send them to school.
When opportune time comes
In the third world, countries that we belong, we live in a society today wherein the poor are getting poorer and the rich are getting richer. But being poor and doesn’t belong to a well to do family is not a deterrent so as One is not able to reach his goal. If you have that strong self determination, motivation and confidence you can succeed on whatever you want to be. Because we are the one making our own future .Those who achieve success are those who take their dreams come true. Don’t ever rely on luck. Maybe you’re lucky enough to win in the lotto. How about if you don’t win in the lottery?
We all belong in a big circle wherein challenges and frustration is present, don’t be afraid to go out from this big circle and build circle of your own. If you don’t succeed in the circle that you build , you are most welcome to go back in the big circle that you once belong… gather again more strength and knowledge and if there is a chance ,go out to build again another circle of your own . When we first begin fighting for a dream, we have no experience and make mistakes. The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and to get up eight times.
If you have watched the movie SOCIAL NETWORK, you will have an idea how the story of the facebook was created . The boy who invented Facebook, CEO, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaires next to Microsoft CEO Mr. Bill Gates. At the beginning he has suffered a lot of frustration and hangs up, but in the end he has met his dream and become the successful owner of the most talked and utilized websites in the century today.
These implies that never be afraid to face the challenges that may arise in the road that you are traveling. Use your resources and fight the current. There’s a saying that if the water in a river is stagnant and not moving, later on, this water will give bad odor. The same is true with a person who stays idle in life.
When Doing Manual Labor is More Dignified
Don’t be afraid to do manual labor for as long as it is legal to earn, go for it. Create constructive and not destructive ideas by frequent reading and applying the special skills that you have learned. Constant practice makes you a perfect worker. Do you believe that in the progressive, developed countries, the blue collar workers are the ones who has the higher wages compared to the white collar workers? These blue collars workers comprises of the Mechanics, Hairdressers, Dressmakers, Welders, Technicians, etc.
And we are thankful that right now these are the courses that we students in this school are taking. .The boy that I mentioned in my story was also a product of a trade school and his success story, it really touches my heart and has inspired me a lot to the poem that inspired this boy to succeed in his endeavors. For generations this poem has become the inspiration of many successful students, professionals and even families who’s having difficulties in life. It has become my inspiration also and even passes it to my four lovely daughters. It’s about a poem DON’T QUIT.
It has become my inspiration
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will.
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about.
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow.
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than.
It seems to a faint and faltering man.
Often the struggler has given up.
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out.
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit.
It’s when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
