Shhh! (Don't tell anyone that the National Debt is now $17.8 Trillion Dollars!)

Updated on September 9, 2014

Congress is back in session without even talking about a "solution" for the growing National Debt crisis!

Watch out! Congress is back in session and spending your disappearing inheritance with no "solution" in sight, except getting re-elected. A little history here (and it's scary!)

The National Debt we owe is now $17.7 Trillion+ and each taxpayer's share of it is $152,000+ ! *

Once upon a time we learned about personal debt and the need for our nation to pay its creditors/speculators. Now we falsely think that it's not our bills, "they are the government's bills."

In a "government of the people, by the people, and for the people" those are "bills of the people, bills by the people, and bills for the people to pay!"

Even if you have paid off your mortgage, and your credit cards, as taxpayers (each of us) in our family presently owe $152,000+ ! *

Subtract that from the value of your estate, and you get a more realistic sense of what you are really worth!

We had a president who understood the importance of our National Debt. His name: George Washington. Stop here and read this Hub:

That Hub should be entitled "George Washington Speaks To Today's Americans" because when it comes to the National Debt there are no "Leaders."

Now let's make the situation even more realistic.

We don't have just our National Debt and personal debts to be concerned about!

In our form of government (as a reminder, because we no longer study Civics in our schools) we live under our elected politicians in our state government.

If you aren't mad as hell already, look up what your share of your own state's State Indebtedness is today! State indebtedness now totals an additional $1.2 trillion dollars, and we Americans also continue buying more from abroad than we sell abroad.

And you thought you might not "bother" to vote this year? If that is the case, YOU are the problem!

How in debt is your state government?

Don't expect the federal government to bail out your state's indebtedness. The federal government is deep in debt, too!

That's a whole lot of debt, and frankly it upsets me a great deal.
