Credit Unions: They Will Give Better Interest Rates As Opposed To Banks

Updated on April 23, 2012

Credit Unions Are Your Local Bank

If you are looking for a way to save your money and get the great service that you want out of a bank, you should consider using your local credit union. There are usually better rates on loans, lower rates on credit cards and other great perks of using a credit union.

The best part of using your credit union is that you get that neighborhood feel from your bank. It won't be some large corporation that is driven by profits and making money. Instead, it is simply based on getting the local community the tools they need to get ahead.

They Care About Your Money

If you are going to use a bank to get a loan, you should go to a credit union to get that loan. They will take the time to go over your finances and actually meet with you about the terms and conditions of the loan. Better yet, going to your local credit union is going to enable you to be smart about your finances.

Credit scores do not mean everything to a credit union, but they will not give you a loan that you could not afford to repay. This allows you to be smart with your money and not take out loans that will put you into more debt.

Get Better Rates On Loans

Your credit union is going to be the place to go for the best rates on your loans. Whether you want an auto loan, a home loan or any other type of financing, the customer gets the best rates at a credit union. A 60 month car loan could be had for as little as 3 percent. That is much less than the typical car loan that can run you 5-6 percent at a dealer.

If you cannot stop by to see someone in person, you can always apply for a loan online. This is great for those who are stuck at work during banking hours.

Credit Unions Give You Better Service

The best thing about the credit union is that you are going to get better service. There is always someone who is available to talk to you whenever you have a question. Emails, calls and other inquiries are usually answered the same day. If you really need to get in touch, you can always come by your local branch and meet with someone in person.

Electronic banking gives you the ability to do your banking when you are at home, on the job and wherever you happen to be. This extra layer of service and convenience you cannot always get form a bigger bank.

Choose A Credit Union

Go to your local credit union and start an account today. You can get better rates on loans and there will always be someone there to help you out when you need it. Instead of a corporate giant who is looking out for maximum profits, you get a small town operation that is conservative with your money and allows you to stay away from unnecessary financial risk. With money being so tight these days, you need an institution that is going to be by your side at all times. You money is quite valuable, so why not find someone who cares just as much as you do?
