While I was in a spring cleaning mood, I decided to organize my bathroom. I went to work separating the things I never used from the things I used most often. When I was finished, I noticed I had three baskets full of lip balms. This was when I first realized that I had an obsession with lip balm. Obsession or not I had to throw some of this lip balm away. What if I had a guest over and that guest went through my bathroom cabinet? They would inspect the massive amount of lip balm that I possessed and tell everyone about it. I would become the "crazy lip balm lady" and would have to move away from my neighborhood. OK, that might be an exaggeration, but I did need to throw some of it away or find a very good excuse to keep it.

This was how I came across all the unique and unusual ways to use lip balm. You are probably beginning to wonder why I am sharing this with the Internet community? I was amazed at all the different things that lip balm can be used for which led me to wonder what other seemingly useless items I owned that could also be used in other ways. I know that I am far from being the first person to write anything like this, but I think it will be fun to write about if only to learn about it myself.

This is the first of what I hope to be many “Unique and Unusual Ways To Use Common Household Items” hubs. To make it a little more fun for myself and a little more informative for you, I will also be trying most if not all the ideas and then relaying to you how it works first-hand. Each hub will feature a different item and it’s unique uses. The links to each will be listed below in alphabetical order, hopefully making it easier for people to find specific items of interest so that they too will be able to justify having a ridiculous amount of something unusual!

If you have an idea for a household item to write about please leave a comment and let me know. Also if you have any other ways an item can be used please leave me a message about it and let me know if I can add it to the items page, and of course any ideas that anyone has will be credited to you! I will do my best to make sure any idea that is suggested will be written about. Thank you all for your ideas in advance!
