Winn Dixie customers using Debit cards :Beware

You just lost a customer

It was a Saturday morning and I was on my way to the grocery store,but something told me to call and check my account.I usually do this so I would know what my budget would be ,as I wrote my grocery list.To my surprise my account was in a negative balance.I checked the last transactions on my card and was surprised to hear a debit adjustment had been added to my account removing $350.99.I didn't authorize this so I immediately contacted customer service.To my surprise Winn Dixie in Coldwater ,Alabama had removed this money.Knowing I hadn't been to that Winn Dixie since March 5th, when I purchased a money order,I immediately went to Winn Dixie .

After getting there I spoke to the manager and explained what had happened .She told me she had been the only manager there and didn't understand how this happened.She gave me a number to call and I spoke with customer service and began they began an investigation.To make a long story short Winn Dixie admitted the error and promised a refund in seven days.

Well seven days came and went and I have yet to receive my money. Every time I call I was told management is on it and they would help me resolve any issues with my bank. It is now April 3rd and I have decided to contact a lawyer to help me .

I am a single parent who receives income once a month .So when my funds where taken I had to borrow money from friends and family .I promised these people I would pay them back on or before March 30th because that is when they told me I would be receiving my money.Now not only do I owe my bank but family members as well.

So customers of Winn Dixie,beware when you swipe your debit card .The sales team there is great but they stole from me and caused a lot of pain and suffering which they don't want to compensate me for.


On April 4th I received a call from Winn Dixie telling me they redeposited the money back on my account.They even called the bank with me to help trace the money.My bank said it takes 3-5 days to process a direct deposit of this type so I am again waiting.

But when I mentioned being compensated for missing work and for the embarrassment of having to beg for money and having to go to food banks they could care less.So I am certain I will be filing a civil suit to get compensation for my pain and suffering.

On Saturday April 6th ,my money was finally redeposited on my account.I am thankful for that but now I will be pursing a civil suit for damages.

    Thanks soconfident as of April 5th i haven't received any money but Winn dixie assured me they redeposited the money back into my account.My bank said give them 3-5 days so we will see tuesday the nineth will be the 5th business day.

    wow ,I didn't know that .But you might be right because this is the 4th of April and I am still waiting but customer service claim the money has been sent.

    Sorry for you and this outrage happening, mss. All the Winn-Dixies have long been closed around here and obviously they are in a bit of trouble as a company. Not saying that s the reason but you never know. Hope all works out right for you.
