I'd like to add safety into the excellent answer that Cobrien posted. Make sure that if you meet with anyone you do it in a busy public place such as a library or near a police station. There are some petty and not so petty thefts that occur only because an opportunity is available. Remove all opportunity by taking at least one or two other people with you an letting someone else know where you will be meeting the prospective buyer. I know of a college student who had a side business going re-selling used phones. He got robbed of it at gunpoint when meeting a prospective buyer. Being robbed by prospective buyers is not common, but it is always good to use common sense. Be safe.
