Interesting question...i don't think they can. They can only delay the inevitable in my view. The Euro will eventually likely be a northern European currency only. But in the short term they'll attempt to. In the end there are too many cultural economic problems. The germans are as a culture that is far more economically producitve. They can't be asked to perpetually pay for the "club med" lifestyle of many other nations. You can't forever tax one mans productivity for the sake of subsidizing another mans leisure. Sooner or later it will come to an end. My guess is it ends very badly with another decade or so of muzzled economic growth in the Eurozone.
