My original plan was to retire at 65 or 66, depending on my health. The conditions at my office change and I was going to leave at 62 and take the retiree's insurance. The company left me go at 59 and a half and with one year of COBRA coverage, denying me the retiree insurance that I could had used until Medicare. Could not convert to private policy because the Group Plan did not write private policies in my state. My retire at 62 plan also called for me to do "something else" for a few years.
Those "something else" jobs do not exist. I have a solid 38 year work history and I cannot get hired for anything. Its the age factor, but no one admits that.
