1. When you go shopping, keep telling yourself "I don't need it, I don't need it". This would help anyone who enjoys retail therapy, and would avoid having all those unworn shoes and clothes at the back of your wardrobe, or food in your fridge going moldy.
2. Avoid throwing away food by being imaginative in using up odd leftovers, to create tasty meals. You'd be surprised how, with a little ingenuity, you can use up small quantities of things by including them in an omelette filling, a stew, a curry, a pasta or rice dish, or soup. Almost anything can be packed out with onions, garlic, herbs, spices and/or tomato to make a sauce or meal fit for a king.
