I was curious to see how other people are thinking about spending in this economy.  I try to only spend what I have, staying away from credit, but I like to think ahead.

Stick it in Money Market savings until spring and then get work outside of my house done.

That is a great idea.  Every year we try to make one improvement to our home.  One year it was the gutters, the next year it was replacing a few windows.  This year we might replace the rusted railing on the front porch.

I would stick it in savings so I could pay the property taxes when they come due again and have some available for the next necessary home repair.

I wish those property taxes did not exist.  It would be comforting to have money set aside for home maintenance issues.

That would pay for the summer and fall semesters along with a few more things to prepare for the little one's arrival.

Tuition is expensive!  I too would use the money for that.  Congratulations and best wishes to you with a little one on the way!

humn...not tell any of my family or bill collectors!!
I would pay it forward...... with first starting 2 scholarships for a thousand dollars each for a local college. Then I would go to a couple of restaurants and pay a couple of peoples checks, all sneaky stealth like...so no one ever knows.
Then, paying a couple peoples medical bills or donating anonymous to erasing their debt.I would see if I could get and  rent a dentist for a day and to have them  go to a poor town or area to do check ups to help folks get their smiles back and with the money left I would buy my grandmother a tomb stone so she has a place instead of a jar...
