What is "fanbox" and why am I getting emails from them saying I have earnings?

I did a little research, but did not find much. I keep getting emails saying that I have "earned $51.00 today", or whatever various amount. From what? I think fanbox.com is a scam. What do you think?

I think you have registered with Fanbox and it is not a scam. At least I got paid twice from them.

That's odd because I haven't  written anything for that sight. How can I possibly be getting paid? If they pay me some real money, then I might look into more.

That's funny that people always want something for nothing, and then they will believe. If you go to your profile and work the site, you will get paid real money my friend! Find out why you are earning, and you will see. Ignorance is your loss!

You have a friend list connected to your email account. This is one way you get those spam mails. It comes from someones friend list. That is how I started getting them. The "friend",  who's list I am on, hit the fanbox "Invite Your Friends"  link.

FanBox is a community web site run by democratic structures and has developed over several years from being a blogging site into having trading, ads, investment and other earning options.

If you are getting emails then you must already have a membership - these days that is by invite only and an activation code is needed before you can start using the facilities.  Otherwise you would only be able to view things on the site.  Log in to the site and you can view your personal data from your Dashboard.  You can ask for an experienced member to help you - it is a free service provided by volunteers who are trained as Success Coaches only after they have already shown they have the aptitude to earn and share their knowledge with others.

For those of us that have been on the site for years, the accusations of 'scam' are laughable - most such accusations seem to come from the hackers and other pests who were narked at being booted off the site before they could steal from the community.   It certainly isn't a 'get rich quick' scheme - you need to put some effort into earning from sharing posts, photos, videos, etc.

Of course you don't have to take the word of any member - you can visit the BBB web site and see their review of FanBox and the A rating they give the site blows away any silly accusations from the disgruntled pests who couldn't outsmart the systems developed to keep them out.

Rhumour is obviously a shill for this scam. Everything in his post is ridiculous. I happened to run into SMS.ac in San Diego (supposedly Fanbox is run by these cretins) not a good experience at all. The whole thing is a scam, block the emails!

Where on Earth did you do your research? Try talking to your free Success Coach in your personal account and find the answers to your questions. Did you even click on the email you got and actually visit your profile? Really, where did you do your research?

FanBox is a great social democratic site helping users from worldwide. The reason that you received earnings is through IPL(I'll Pay Later) funds.  FanBox is giving IPL for all registered users and so they can start earning on the site. We can receive earnings when IPL is funded towards 'Boosting' (Funding other users ads). It is a default settings by setting and so your IPL funds will use daily and you will receive earnings. IPL is FanBox's money and so you can only keep profits for all IPL related earnings. In addition to this, you can also earn from other activities like sharing posts(Photos/Blogs/Videos), Selling, Ads, Teaching, etc.. There are many ways that we can earn on the site. Please get in touch with your success to understand more and so you can be more successful. Wish you all the best !

You subscribed on FanBox, activated IPL, when you did that an automatic boost started and that´s how you earn.
In FanBox are many ways to earn money by:
    - Sharing content (photos, blog posts, videos)
    - selling products, services or premium blogs
    - sponsoring
    - creating ads for your blog post or for others blog posts
    - boosting
    - teaching (becoming teacher and/or Success Coach)

I earned thousands of dollars and cashed out but this was possible because I learnt and worked, in the same time I enjoyed my time and learned many, many new things.
Do you think you can do that?

FanBox send out email for his members about their earnings, there is nothing wrong with this! If you did not know how you earned, most probably from boosting, but why not checking yourself?
And no, it is not a scam!

I have read a lot of Fanbox reviews and am just getting started in it.  From what I have seen and read it is legitimate and has been around for a long time.  In my mind anything that is a scam will not be around as long as Fanbox has or will not have as many people on it as what Fanbox does.

I see it like Squidoo used to be where you earned revenue for your post but better.

There is a huge difference being barely legal, and ethical and honest. A lot of people are there for the social side. As for earning money. You have to bee really skilled at writing or advertising and such to earn. The average person will loose.

"3 answers hidden due to negative feedback. Hide" (at end of comments)
I do not agree with not having negative feedback right along with all the lies and hype that is shown normally.

You earned nothing until you start paying fees. And waiting 90 days or more
to get paid. All the while fees keep pilling up.
You have to be a gifted writer, advertiser, or other special skills that the vast majority don't have. It is they , the vast majority, that pay for the few that are
earning and hype up fanbox. At your expense!

You can not call it a scam because a few do get paid. I consider fanbox highly dishonest, unethical and hype to the extreme and SCAMMY as, I will explain later.

There is unending rule changes and they get away with saying it is an
experiment, alpha, or some other crap phrase.
I got kicked out of fanbox, by their sleazy president, because I voiced my
dissatisfaction on their tactics. The social side is OK.

The comment that Hubpages has rated best was writen by a fanbox insider
and professional writer. He has slandered me and accused me of trying to defraud fanbox. When it was fanbox who charged my Paypal with bids I did not win in their auction scheme. It says in their terms of service that no funds will be charged unless you win the bids. How many others were charged and did not know? This part of fanbox is a total scam!! I have a hub page called "Things I do not like about fanbox" for more info.

1st clue if a site is a SCAM: they want credit card or paypal info to validate identity, usually the last 'step' to sign up for 'free'....... you have to be pretty naive to not know this.

  20. profile image51
You Sir Are Wrongposted 8 years ago

Any email that tells you that you have an account when you know that you don't, tells you that you have funds that you know that you don't and then directs you to their site so you can enter your credit card or Paypal information is unequivocally a scam. All the people on here saying it isn't and saying 'you must have signed up somehow' are liars and in collusion with the scam itself. Mark the emails as spam and don't be gullible enough to fall for the BS monetary value they say is yours. I know it sounds nice to have a mystery account pop up that has some funds you can cash out but its all a S-C-A-M! If you don't believe it is a scam then by all means move forward, enter your information and while you're at it respond to all of those funds-waiting-in-Africa emails too.

You don't have to sign up to get emails. You are on someone's email list and they sent in your email to fanbox. The funds they say you have is on condition that take some action, credit card, paypal etc. What they do is not right. Barely legal

I have an account with Fanbox and have earned over 4000 USd but I cannot cash out because the amount I owe them is more than the amount I can cash out. It seems that no matter what I do, I'll just have to use my card and deposit some cash with them in order to cash out!
Also their FAQ section does not work, apart from two or three questions, none of them open.
