Are there any researchers here on Hubpages? What is your standard rate?
If you are a researcher what do you charge? I am about to do a job but I worked with the client before. The hourly rate I set was good but based on the amount of time to put in, the cost was out of his reach. So I agreed to set a fixed price. Any ideas please?
well, how can anyone answer this question? The fixed price depends on the type and scope of research. it is one thing if it is a marketing research, another thing if it is market research, third thing if it is data minding type of research...
Basically, it is always good rule of thumb to quote a fix price based on number of hours times hourly rate plus 10% buffer. e.g. if your hourly rate is $20 and you need 10 hours for the research, the total price will be 20 x 10 + 10% = $220. Now the hourly rate can be let's say up yo 5 for data mining type of research, 10-15 for marketing research, 20-30 or more for market research or competitors research and analysis, and so on. It depends also on the analysis involved after the research is done.
Hope this helped - but if there are more details, it would be easier to help your calculate costs :-) Good luck!

I joined Odesk and put my hourly rate at $6/hr. Do you think that's a fair price for a beginner?

Do you track both your income from writing and how much time you put into it? If you do, do you have a minimum hourly rate that you target?

It is against HubPages' rules to inquire about other writer's monthly payments.

How do you determine how much to charge for an hourly rate for a freelance writing gig?I've been offered a job to write 1-3 articles monthly. They've never worked with a freelance writer and I've never been offered a paying job so neither of us know what is fair. It requires research for each...

When eating out, traveling, etc..., do you tip people who earn an hourly wage?I used to tip everybody from the postman to the hotel maids and coffee shop counter help. But, let's face it, the economy is sinking and that becomes expensive. I have had to cut back and now, for instance, I tend to not...

I was just curious for those of you who write for Medium and/or Substack, how your earnings compare to what you make on Hubpages. Do you think it's worthwhile writing for these sites? I look forward to everyone's insight. Thank you.
