Will someone please address this with a Hub? I started to read an article that was linked from FaceBook, but it was more about the history and the launch party than any specifics. (And I'm only guessing at the correct topic selection for this question!)

So---it would be kind of like a pre-paid credit card???
No. It's like a different kind of currency. It's not dollars, euros, pesos, yen, or any other type of currency owned by a country. It's bitcoin currency.
So how do you get it? From your comment that "..they're really expensive," that sounds like something you'd buy, like the pre-paid cards....and not a currency you'd receive in payment for anything..??
There's a bitcoin miner you can download. I don't know how it works because I never got a bitcoin from it. You can also buy them, but I don't know where. I would just google "where to buy bitcoin".
