How do you "bark" as a seller or vendor at flea markets and swap meets?

How do these vendors command top dollar for their items, while others who come to the same event are less successful? I put a low price on an item which would have been a bargain at twice that price, and I had people scoff and say how high it was, while my neighbor at the sale was vending broken junk right and left for exorbitant amounts, and the buyers were glad to pay it! They practically fought each other to purchase his items. What gives? I'd like to know his secret.
