Absolutely! While working, you (and your employer) were making 'contributions' to your SSA account that were compulsury. So, even if you are on a beach in Mexico or mountain top in Tibet, you are entitled to all the benefits for which you qualify. You don't need to reside within the geo-political borders of the US to collect your benefits. In fact, you are not required to be a US citizen.
Living in another country, with a completely different culture, can be fun and, sometimes, much less expensive than living in the US. But, like any other major undertaking, I would warn you to completely research what you want to do BEFORE you do it!
Please note! Medicare and medicare benefits may be a problem. Not very many doctors or hospitals outside of the United States are members of the system and, therefore, do not supply services covered by the program.
