If the world decided to eliminate the use of Money, Would the world be a better place to live in?
It sure would be a perfect world to live in IF man would be willing to work irregardless of it.
You could never eliminate money. Ok maybe we wouldnt hold paper bills or metal coins but instead i would have milk and you would have ham....and that trade would be like a five dollar(milk) bill for a few extra hours of work and aging in the pork. I understand the attempt to end the idea of the class system but its impossible. Someone is always going to have access to more valuable supplies then someone else. The real solution is to stop being entirely consumed by the idea of acquiring things and having more then the person next to you. We put too much into those that have more stuff then others and as long as we have this kind of mindset the class system will be in place and money will continue to be money while having more things will continue to contaminate the world we live in.
What would you replace it with? We need some way to gauge the value of the products and services we have versus the products and services we need. The barter system is nice, but only effective on a small, local scale. For a global economy, the transfer of goods requires another way to provide income.
If people placed less importance on money and consumerism, the world would be better. If we didn't feel the need for the newest, shiny toy, and cared more about the quality of relationships and community, the world would be a better place to live. Can we do that? You decide.
Money is only a tool. Its replacement would only become the new "money".
Our system of exchange is not flawed. Money is the legal tender for exchanging objects of equal value. If I need your hammer and you need my car, we can't exchange. We could only exchange if you gave me the hammer plus someything else for my car. Money fills the gap.
The distribution of money is the problem we are facing. Don't be distracted by the tool. Most of us work 4 months out of every year for the government (taxes). That's a substaintial amount of our income gone instantly - for what? It's not for roads and schools, I assure you. And certainly not for healthcare.
Our system of exchange is not broken, it's rigged.
No. Money gives civilized mammals a quick and easy way of exchanging value for value. Doing without it would be quite cumbersome, though not impossible.
In our nation's past gold has been used, though it is subject to fraud when not in the form of recognizable coins. Anyone had to go to an Assayer's Office lately? Neither have we.
Tobacco has been used, but is quite unwieldy.
Pacific tribes have used large rocks; again, unwieldy.
Until something better comes along, I'm a fan of money as we know it today.
It would be better because we would eliminate all the wasted energy that is spent on money. People choosing a job not because it is important or something they are good at but because it makes more money. We would eliminate many useless jobs(bankers, credit cards, insurance), and create more jobs for teaching and research.
How would this work? You get a card and depending on your job, the card decides what areas you can live in. Food is limited but you will always get the basics and the better your job, the more times you can go out to eat. Healthcare is free and schooling is free. To go to college one just needs to keep certain grades.
It is such a waste to have so many people that are doing nothing productive and making a living just shuffling papers. To eliminate money would be a blessing
www.eliminateworldmoney.com is a website that may have all the answers. It has an email and facebook fan page. It just started.
every monetary system ever has collapsed and shit hits the fan hard we do this over and over a monetary system enslaves us. we are not free. we are the only planet that still has a monetary system and its not up for debate we all know of the Andromeda humanoids help. and we allsp know the 54 security clearances above the president. so who cares who that puppet is. i dont remember voting about drilling oil from oir oceans. infact i remember an enguin run on hydrogen and never hearing about it again. do you guys remember the box ghat runs electricity free for one home. these ppl high up get into these corporations by our allowance of a monetary system. money =human interest is last.
PEOPLE OVER PROFIT
what about the FDA. everyone knows of the machine made to destroy cancer cells by vibrational frequencys. its gone now and the inventor is dead. who is getting profit from cancer charity donations of millions and billions, the same people.
you can thank our monetary system.your answer...
so many incorrect projections....
With automation at our disposal, and if its unleashed properly tomorrow, we could eliminate 75% of the global workforce.
The notion that Humans need to work is outdated.
But, we need to create a change in society.
Why would it need to be replaced? Couldn't everyone just have equal share of everything made and instead of making excessive things we make only what we need free food free school people do what they are good at and what make them happy we currently make millions of things and much of it never gets sold you see brand new cars on lots everywhere I bet we could hook every capable driver with a brand new car and still have stock left. It's a senseless free for all make more new sell so some dude at the top can get rich die rich and never really enjoy life. It's senseless this planet and it's resources are controlled yet we all own it we all own a piece of this planet. Why do we let the rich control our land and resources then sell it back to us? I think money is the root of all evil there are so many people who would take a job for a place to live and 3 meals a day crime would drop if we met the needs of each person.Look at the work Gene Roddenberry made on Star-trek everyone works everyone is equal and everyone has all the need no greed no bs just the chance to work be happy and enjoy this one life we get here imagine what we could accomplish if money was eliminated science wouldn't have to beg for grants we could build all we need and go anywhere to mars and beyond money is an obstacle and every place is in a national debt Why? We all own the stuff made already yet for some reason we work to get the resources that we own then we let someone sell it back to us it's illogical. I think it could be done without needing to replace money
We would very soon need to invent something that would look a lot like money.

Some will say that a system or tool such as money could not be moral or ethical; it’s how the tool or system is used that matters, but does it not facilitate treachery on a disastrous scale? Are laws and regulations enough to control this? Is it all worth it?

Religion preaches love, peace and unity, but provokes hatred, war and disunity. Would the world be a better place without religion?

Hey Hubbers,It's irony that I post this because of the many threads talking about how the world would be without "religious" folk of all different types/forms of religion. So, would the world be better if Humans existence had never happened? Or if Humans would be extinct? Now, I know it's a...
