Is an ambition of  being just a millionaire  enough in today’s world? Or one should thing about becoming a billionaire?

Most people in the world today are not thinking about being a millionaire or a billionaire. Since you do, this puts you among the minority. People are struggling to find a job, to pay for a roof over their heads, to buy food, to survive. You aspire to be part of group that is doing everything they possible can to keep you out!

JUST a millionaire?  The accumulation of wealth has a different meaning and purpose to everyone. This being said, it would be reasonable to say that the amount of that wealth that one desires or has or feels they NEED would be quite different from person to person as well. For example, because of my belief system on lifestyle, economics and penchant toward simplicity, I am sure I could do quite well on even less than a million. Any amount well beyond what is necessary to live comfortably, should be a signal to spread/share your fortune in positive, productive ways, in an effort to create a better world in general. Just my sincere opinion.

I can support my family with $20,000 per year. We could go less if we really tried, but we like to eat healthy.

I would have no problem with 1 million.

Depends on what you want out of life, I guess. If you want a couple of ferraris in the drive - probably best to aim more much more than a million. If you want to spend more time with the kids, a million is plenty.

Caroline, you may like to know that I am now working on my second million. I had to give up on the first!

A million is enough to get me started doing what I WANT to do with life.

A million would let me quit my job and focus on school so that I could finish it, with honors, and begin a career that I love.

Most people live beyond their means, so it really doesn't matter how much money they have. I'd say that in realistic terms a million dollars is still an awful lot of money to most people and can make a huge difference to a person's life.

I assume you're stating that a million dollars isn't what it once was.  That's true, but the million dollar threshold is still something few people have reached when compared to those that have not.

When I was younger, I really aspired to become a millionaire.  I haven't hit it yet - not even close, but today, I simply aspire to earn enough money to support my family and have a few bucks left for a few fun things.  Money has taken a backseat to family, now that I have one, and I don't regret it one bit.

Well, a million dollars is still a million dollars and I can't imagine anybody turning it down were it offered to them.

    From Fiddler on the Roof:

"Dear God, you made many, many poor people.
I realize, of course, that it's no shame to be poor.
But it's no great honor either!
So, what would have been so terrible if I had a small fortune?"

If I were a rich man,
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Ya ha deedle deedle, bubba bubba deedle deedle dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
    Idle-diddle-daidle-daidle man.

I'd build a big tall house with rooms by the dozen,
Right in the middle of the town.
A fine tin roof with real wooden floors below.
There would be one long staircase just going up,
And one even longer coming down,
And one more leading nowhere, just for show.

I'd fill my yard with chicks and turkeys and geese and ducks
For the town to see and hear.
(Insert)Squawking just as noisily as they can. (End Insert)
With each loud "cheep" "swaqwk" "honk" "quack"
Would land like a trumpet on the ear,
As if to say "Here lives a wealthy man."

If I were a rich man,
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
If I were a biddy biddy rich,
    Idle-diddle-daidle-daidle man.

I'd see my wife, my Golde, looking like a rich man's wife
    With a proper double-chin.
Supervising meals to her heart's delight.
I see her putting on airs and strutting like a peacock.
Oy, what a happy mood she's in.
Screaming at the servants, day and night.

The most important men in town would come to fawn on me!
They would ask me to advise them,
    Like a Solomon the Wise.
    "If you please, Reb Tevye..."
    "Pardon me, Reb Tevye..."
Posing problems that would cross a rabbi's eyes!

And it won't make one bit of difference if i answer right or wrong.
When you're rich, they think you really know!

If I were rich, I'd have the time that I lack
To sit in the synagogue and pray.
And maybe have a seat by the Eastern wall.
And I'd discuss the holy books with the learned men, several hours every day.
That would be the sweetest thing of all.

If I were a rich man,
Yubby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dibby dum.
All day long I'd biddy biddy bum.
If I were a wealthy man.
I wouldn't have to work hard.
    Idle-diddle-daidle-daidle man.

Lord who mad the lion and the lamb,
You decreed I should be what I am.
Would it spoil some vast eternal plan?
If I were a wealthy man.
