Tricks to make money online

Updated on August 29, 2014

Introduction

Unless you like to live entirely off the grid, consume the food which you grow in your backyard and stay away from what this advanced world has to offer, you need some source of earning to sustain your unending needs. For most of the people, getting a job fulfills this necessity and you can spend all you want.

A huge percentage of all the earning population ends up working for any corporation or say, the owner of the firm. The whole structure of employment has been built very carefully around these owners which are better known as the big players of the market. The employed people end up spending all their efforts to fill the pockets of such people.

But with the arrival of the internet revolution, people have been bestowed with an opportunity of earning for themselves and not relying on their so called 'bosses' to fulfill their needs.Earning money through internet forms a huge market with millions of people from every part of the world, many of which have taken online earning as their part time and full time earning as well. Some of these turn out to be so successful that they get featured as Internet success stories.

In this article, I'll list down some of the common yet effective methods(in no particular order) to earn money on the internet.

1. Blogging

One of the biggest reasons why internet has helped people to voice their words is blogging. If you are good at or passionate about something, blogging can help you supply the world with all your knowledge. The key to earning here, as is with many other internet services, is selling advertisements.
After setting up your blog, and ensuring that it gains reasonable traffic, you could sign up for online ad services like Google Adsense or you could join Affiliate programs with online sellers.By signing up, you agree to allow these marketeers to place sponsored ads on your website and every time anyone who lands up in your blog, clicks the ad, you are paid a certain amount.Such affiliate programs work on a pay per click or pay per sell basis. The amount earned by a blogger from a single click(or sell) is quite insignificant, but if your blog is a huge hit, you might be in a position to write your own success story as well. The only thing you need to ensure then is to keep updating your blog to maintain the interest of the people and ensuring a good flow of traffic.

Some of the leading blogging websites are:

www.hubpages.com

www.blogger.com

www.wordpress.com

2. Selling Your Stuff Online

Put to simple words, selling your undervalued stuff to someone who values it more.

Selling on auction sites is a simple game of selling your goods at higher value to the buyer. This may sound simple, but it takes some time and experience to became a good online seller. All you need to do is create a seller's account and create attracting and legitimate product pages, which will keep the buyer interested.Remember to keep your bid within reasonable limits, otherwise you may not get a buyer at all.Try to raise the quality of your services to the consumer's demands. This will help you gain positive ratings, which will increase your sales further.

Some of the popular online auction sites:

www.bidderboy.com
www.ebid.net

3. Freelancing

Freelancing, in some ways is quite similar to blogging. You get to work from home for most of the time.Broadly, there are two kinds, one who take up contracts and the other who work on their own and sell self-published material. For the first kind, you need to be someone more experienced than the average blogger, as the contractor would expect your specialized opinion on any certain topic. Many people earn a good amount of money with their expert knowledge.

For those who want to sell self-published matter might find this task harder, because they need to take care of the marketing part too.Persuading others to buy your work poses a difficult challenge.
Of course, you can take up mobile app development, graphic design, software development as other freelance options.

4. Designing and Selling Personalized Goods

One of the most recent and popular trends among the college students and the youth is the use of personalized accessories.T-shirts with texts written and caricatures drawn are a huge demand. These texts won't be from the course books, but ironic, amusing, attracting and most importantly, trending logos and taglines.
The more unique and creative your idea is, the more demand it will create.Internet has made it possible for creative arists to use their talent to gather attention and sales from various parts of the world.Personalised goods cover a huge range of items such as coffee mugs, school bags, key chains, iPhone covers, wallets and gifts for lovers.

5. Domain Name Flipping

Luck, strategy, add or subtract a few lines of code and you could earn thousands of dollars.Domain name speculation refers to the practice of searching for old and poorly maintained domain names-the main address for a web page. These domain names must be brand able and must have commercial appeal.Dedicated domain name flippers generally pay the owners of such sites a few hundred dollars to buy the domain name, work hard on the site and sell the updated, more business and user friendly to buyers for huge amounts.

For example, the Google Keywords tool says there are about 301,000 searches related to bowling balls, and the domain name BowlingBalls.com was sold for $225,000 in Feb 2012.

6. Online Financial Services

Such services include accounting, database management, paycheck processing and making excel sheets. For large firms, it means employing a few people on contract basis and individuals might get such work done online.
These cost and time saving oppurtunities fr others can be used to earn money. One could creaate a site for the above mentioned financial services and work either alone or in collaboration woth other like-minded groups.Clients can be contacted either through your web-site or e-mail.But make sure you have some necessary experience in the field you are providing services in.For example, the client might not trust you with managing his databases if you don't have experience in the same.

7. Customer Support Services

Most of the commercial businesses survive because of providing extensive support for their product.Customers tend to favor brands with good customer care.A large number of such firms provide online support, which can be accessed by e-mail.
At the support page, the customer either fills out a form and sends it online or he talks to the customer care online thorugh the chat window instantaneously. All of this demands for a relaible internet connection. That is the main reason why businesses have started looking increasingly at hiring home based workers.Even though the pay rate is small, the growing demand can be used to make it a relaible cource of income.

8. Online Tutoring

The population of the earth will keep increasing and so will the number of children in the education sector.Increasing pressure to get good quality education and good grades can be used by academicians and senior students to earn good amount of money.
Rising standards of living means more families have good internet connections these days, internet based tutoring services are growing as well.

To become a part of this sector, you can join online tutoring sites like Tutor.com.Obviously, you can do it without joining any such site, but then you need to take care of the marketing part as well.
Connecting students from all parts of the world, the demand for tutors remains high 24 * 7.Such websites give preference to those who work atleast 6 hours a week in the 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST time slot Sunday through Thursday.

9. Selling Homemade Goods

We considered auctioning the goods you don't need on sites, but you can also use websites to sell your personalized creations.Websites like www.etsy.com and www.madeitmyself.com help in bringing prospective buyers of home made art and sellers on the same platform.People generally sell knitting work, crockery, showcase items, painting and sculptures.Passionate people tend to enjoy such a means to earn money. The above mentioned websites help you set up a small online shop for free on their site where from you can trade your masterpiece for the amount it deserves.

This might be more appealing than buying a new web site and managing it all by yourself in addition to creating the home made items.Be sure not to quote too high a price, or you might lose interested buyers.

10. Search Engine Optimization

The increasing dependence of people on internet to share information has given birth to this field.Search Engine Optimization(SEO) is a means of improving the results from the search engine so that the closest matches and data from the most reliable sources are shown on the user's desired results.Such businesses hire people to aid in the optimization process. Each evaluation task involves predicting the user's intent from the set of keywords he enters in the search box and preparing a set of guidelines how the search results match the user's intent.

Though it offers a sound income, it doesn't come risk free.SEO reviewers are asked to review sites for malware and adult content. This exposes the reviewers to potential risk from virus. Also, one has to view potentially offensive material like pornography.
