MORAL AND RELIGION

MORAL AND RELIGION

CAN ONE LIVE A MORAL LIFE WITHOUT RELIGION?

I am glad; I made this decision to make a hub out of this beautiful question that was asked in the hub forum: can one live a moral life without religion?

Here I want to say that I am not persuading anybody rather I want to make the truth known to all. Let me start from the dictionary definition of moral:

Moral: Adhering to ethical and moral principles. (But it is important to note that, right from the days of the bible, adhering to these ethical principles or moral principles have not been viable, reason: if it is achievable Jesus Christ wouldn’t have come).

Moral could be defined as: Concerned with principles of right and wrong or conforming to standards of behavior and character based on those principles.

I establish that moral could be inherited and this is why a particular immorality is prevalent in particular family. Morals could be imparted by parents, teachers, even peers. And the environment can equally affect the moral of a person. In the above scenarios the individual remains the determine factor why, because a person can still feel the parents are foolish enough not to choose a better life style, where there are many ways one can live and enjoy life .

Yes, I agree to some extent; that one can live a moral life without religion, but I will still emphasis that the sustainability is the challenge, knowing that the ability of man is limited in so many ways. Moreover, the Bible said “for if we fail in the days of adversity our strength is small”. Secondly, what most of us are doing is to try to walk poise show people that we are good on the outside, what of the inside? What I am saying, we pretend and package ourselves out worldly without taking care of the inward that require spirituality, but one day our real self will manifest. I deem it fit to let us know that Man is limited in power, wisdom, knowledge, vision (see tomorrow) and in achievement. How does one sustain moral life? Don’t you think that arm of flesh will fail you? The strength of man is not enough my beloved.

May I ask how far has your New Year resolution taking you to? Have you ever asked yourselves why you are not able to stand, maintain and work-out your New Year resolution? Who is the God or the divine power that enable you?

Dictionary definition of Religion: A strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny, Region can be defined as the Institution to express belief in a divine power.

In my hub: God kind of faith, I dramatically define religion as a platform where dos and don’t routines are sentimental base on human strength (practices) and rituals, and is obvious that religion is not a walk with God but Christianity is a walk with God, and is a life style.

Jesus Christ the single person, whose birth and death mark’s the world calendar: assuming he has brought us religion don’t you think his religion should mean anything to you?

We may ask; why did he come? To found a church or religion? to improve on humanity or to give us a code of conduct (moral)? NO! He came for one purpose: He declares “I am come that they may have life and have it more abundantly” John 10:10. “And as the father had life in himself so has he given to the son to have life in himself” John 5:26. “And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his son. He that hath the son had life and he that hath not the son of God hath not life. Kenneth E. Hagin said “receiving eternal life is the most miraculous incident in life”. No wonder the Bible said “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent” John 17:3.

Christianity is much more than good conduct. Divine power for sustenance of good moral is inclusive. You may ask me does Christians not fail. Yes we do fail, we are flesh and blood; and if we fail every other people that do it with willpower fail much more.

One more truth, man is a spirit being; he doesn’t “die and go” so if your good conduct could not help you secure a better destiny in eternity your good conduct is useless. That is why the Bible said “if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
