The People Are The Real Enemy
People Power
I believe it is the people are now becoming the real enemy.That is the enemy of the governments of the west who are determined to keep the truth from its electorate.
We have constantly informed since the end of WWII that Russia and communism were the enemy, hence the cold war.Now we have the war on terrorism.Both designed to install fear and and deflect the truth from the public.
We are seemingly in danger from countries that have or are aquiring Weapons of mass destruction and desperate dictators that rule their countries with terror.
The Truth
History has taught us that not is all exactly as it seems. We are often lied to or not told anything at all. The governments promise the earth to get elected, but once in power democracy is totally ignored.
People are now in search of the truth,access to the Internet, the release of secret papers(usually after 30 years, although they are often held for longer) and wikileaks are all helping people seek the truth
The media is used more often to defect us from the real events in the world today.
Wikileaks
Wikileaks the truth seeking site has helped expose many secrets.Could they be avictim of their own success or are these revelations failing to blow us away.
It is ironic that Wikileaks found that the Australian government was blocking its people from viewing certain Internet pages, and most of these were actually wikipedia entries.
It is more interesting that a release of a US cable in 2010 over the fete of the people of Diego Garcia who were expelled from their Island over 40 years ago and the secret plan to establish a Marine Protected Area around the islands. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/us-embassy-cables-documents/207149

Yes, countries and governments do need secrets,but they need to be handled and managed responsibly.
Tell no lies, and keep no secrets, is that not what true democracy is all about?
Conspiracy Theories
Conspiracy Theories have surrounded us for hundreds of years, people will believe what they want to believe.Theories concerning 9/11 are more prevalent as we have more and easily accessible information available to us.
Once again secrets and information have been witheld from the public only fuelling the conspiracy theorists more.Whichever way you look evidence is never certain and it may take many decades of years before anything can be proved ,if ever.
Pearl Harbour
The attack on pearl Harbour by the Japanese Navy as long been held as a conspiracy. Did Roosevelt know of the attack?
Due to investigative journalism and secret documents/papers becoming available it has recently been revealed that William Forbes Semple, a British Lord was a spy who colluded with the Imperial Japanese Army and helped them develop their Naval Air Service. A poll in 2011 showed that more than 60% of people believed in the pearl harbour conspiracy theory and more than 50% are convinced that the JFK assassination and the Israeli attack on the American naval ship USS Liberty were a conspiracy.
The Art Of Deceiving People
We now all know that Iraq had no Weapons of Mass Destruction, despite what our government told us.Yes they lied to the people. History is written to suit the people who created it. Governments use the media to tell us what they want us to believe.
Are we really sure what our involvement in the world is today, and what is the governments true agenda?
Politics involves control and power and politicians want to control the world we live in.Do people need or want this control.
It now seems honest politicians don't get elected anymore. We have professional politicians governing the people whose main aim is to manipulate them for their own selfish gain.
Ever since WWII Britain and the USA have always decided to join somebody else's fight ,regardless of the problems of the people in their homelands.
Democracy only lasts while there is an election vote, after that they are ignored lied to as the governments follow their own agenda.
The people are now searching for the truth.
