A Defender of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, President Donald J. Trump

Ignore the in-my-face obvious issues and lend all of my attention to unwarranted, groundless non-issues? Not happening!

March for Life

The 47th Annual March for Life Event was recently held in Washington D.C.

For nearly 50 years, with 60+ million abortions to date, pro life individuals have been marching and speaking out for precious life; their voices, their words, their actions representing those...without a voice, without a choice!

Every year this takes me back to when Roe v Wade came to be. As baffled, saddened and repulsed as I was way back then, by an act which intentionally ends life in the womb, all of these years later, I am as baffled, saddened and repulsed by it, as I have ever been.

I have written about abortion and my opposition to it, many times, I’ve no intentions to go in depth about it here and now.

Abortion came as an evil trespasser in the night and robbed us of our innocence. It destroyed and turned lives upside down and has continued doing so, for decades!

Hopefully the next time I write about the subject of abortion, it will be in the past tense!

We have a President, in Donald J. Trump, who is just as baffled, saddened and repulsed by it as I am. He doesn’t just skim over it as many Presidents before have done, we know where he stands on it, without blurred lines, he is a defender of life!

Yesterday, at the March for Life event, the President addressed the crowd, many young people among them, who feel the same, determined to end this senseless, out of control, barbaric practice, once and for all!

Donald J.Trump, First U.S. President to speak at the March for Life Event

Liberty: Living free, without restrictions and oppression

In 1775, Alexander Hamilton wrote, “The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for among old parchments or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of Divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power.”

I’ve always loved this quote!

It perfectly makes the case for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Our rights, granted to us by Creator God himself, guaranteed...in this Republic...through our Constitution, via the Bill of Rights.

If there was ever a time when we’ve witnessed mortal men attempting to take the place of God, and obscure and erase our Rights...it is now!

A very lost political party, which has forsaken God; caught up in a wayward leftist movement, hungry for power {over the people} and position {at the people’s expense} was moving full speed ahead with their radical agendas, until derailed and deterred by one man.

A man they never saw coming!

That man, President Trump, in God's perfect timing, came along and upset their unnatural order of things.

It is more evident than ever before that this lost and wayward movement, these mortal men and women, whom have been pushed off course, are fighting some kind of ugly and dirty, to get back on their version of a course, which is one we can't afford, because it is to the detriment of, our great Republic.

Pursuing happiness, shouldn’t cost liberty

We have an election coming up this year (just in case, you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t noticed)

It will be between pro-life, pro-liberty and pro-pursuit of dreams, current President Donald J Trump and a lineup of people that are not defending life (if there is one, please correct me).

Additionally, they do not defend our liberty nor do they defend an individual’s unabridged pursuit of happiness.

Listen to them, they do not think us capable, as if we require hand holding, as they promise us things, we aren’t to question the cost, they’ll do the worrying for us.

They push, push, push overpriced, liberal indoctrination, aka, many college educations and then they feel our pain, when the outrageous price tag comes due. We must look to them to fix it! They have a plan, they always have a plan. Give them control and they’ll pay off those horrible and unfair education costs, which they've pushed down our throats all along.

That is exactly what Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and other socialists, currently running for President are doing.

Recently, Elizabeth Warren was called out on it by an individual that pays his way and has paid his daughter’s way through college, incurring zero debt. He asks her about her plan to pay off college debt with federal funds and if a reimbursement for him, may be a part of that plan. She responds with, “of course not”, she laughs it off and he is obviously put off, by her response, but not surprised.

This is who they are, this is what they do.

She wants no part of any individual, who thinks and does for themselves and for their families. She and other big Government leftists/socialists give absolutely zero credit to this father or to anyone else in this Country, who are guilty of...responsibility!

It doesn’t fit their narrative nor their agenda!

President Trump on the other hand, understands and believes in the individual and the American can-do spirit. He has worked to bring back the jobs that former President Obama told us were gone forever! Then, as every good President should do, President Trump says there you go, jobs, now get to work and he and Government get out of the way (well, as much as possible; liberal policies have brought us a few nightmares that we must contend with) but you get my point!

While Trump understands the need for limited Government, they, this Democratic crop of candidates, believe Government is the answer to everything! They want and desire power over every aspect of our lives.

We are seeing firsthand, what the left is capable of. Their quest to rid this Country of Donald J.Trump has gone far beyond politics as usual, it has been quite despicable.

Their desire to silence all of us who voted for him is evident. Those of us who understand that our rights; including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, as granted by God, as guaranteed for all of us, through an outlined policy of limited Government, which works for all of us, will not be silenced!

They are working, progressing toward something else, what they are working for or toward, isn’t clear, but it isn’t in the best interest of the people and I, personally, want no part of it. I’ll stick with the man we totally gambled on before, as the safest bet by far, this next go round.

No PT, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is a God concept!

If it were up to me, we wouldn't kill babies. Is that clear enough?

Isn't life liberty and the pursuit of happiness a Federal Concept?

The problem with returning it to the state level is there are 50 states, and they could have 50 different laws. In which case, there will be Forum shopping to suit the wishes of the person, and not care about the new life.

This is a complex issue that is not satisfied by the existing Roe v Wade. The only thing it has going is its consistency across the country.

What I was asking was how would you write the abortion law whether is it state or federal?

      Thanks

Hi PT, thank you for the question.

I was fourteen years old when Roe v Wade passed. I was opposed to ending life then and I feel the same today.

Present day, I obviously understand due process and an individual's right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, much more than I did as a child.

For the life of me, I can't understand why a child has to die for another to go on with their life (unless it really is a matter of their life)

Before Roe v Wade, it was a State issue, as it should have been. Whether that requires a change or a full repeal on the federal level, that's what is required.

My comment is a question on Roe v Wade.

If you were the SCOTUS what would you do about the Roe v Wade decision?

Would you change it, repeal it or just leave it as it has been for the last past 46 years?

      Good morning James, thank you.

I know that many feel the same!

I think President Trump will return to office, by a landslide. The folks know he has their best interest at heart. Additionally, they've had their fill of the hateful, destructive, do nothing Dems.

What a joke this whole CC hoax is; Al Gore has gotten rich off of it, children, like Greta Thunberg, managed to survive the womb, only to be brainwashed and made to feel guilty for living!

Yep, that’s why manmade global warming is now “climate change”

(Btw latest news is earth temp has only risen one degree in the last 100 years and even a 2-4 rise over the next 100 years would be beneficial in many ways)

Liberals has such a factual negative connotation they changed it to “progressives”

The left wants Government to be all up in everybody's business...except...when it comes to the most defenseless of all, the pre-born baby. Then it becomes, stay out of HER way, it must be left up to her, the person carrying a....having a....expecting a...umm, it's about her health!

There is a reason the left puts harmless labels; women's health, reproductive rights...they must make it look like something less than murder.

I agree with you that it's more a ruse and a disguise for things like encouraging abortion. Healthcare for women is not worth it. Aside from pregnancy, there is no healthcare issue for women that is different from men. If it's not a menstrual cycle, it's prostate issues and such. We all can get cancer of various kinds. Government healthcare for women doesn't do much for women. Take it from someone who knows. What use is it? Minimal. It can be used for checkups, but it can't be used to help with other medical issues specific to women besides pregnancy and that's covered under Medicaid.

So true T and when you try to explain to people that Government run healthcare means more Government control over you and in your life, you are called insensitive and unfeeling. They, liberals/the left, have convinced themselves it is okay to kill babies and we, conservatives, get called out for being insensitive.

      Get a clue, don't "be a wall" :)

    • tsadjatko profile image

4 weeks ago from now on

Yes, I know what you mean. That’s how liberalism works. It’s bait and switch. They take an issue no one would be against like affordable healthcare or woman’s health and so appeal to your emotions when all the time THEY know that is the ruse! You think you are voting for affordable healthcare when what they slip you is anything but! Or who wants women not to have access to healthcare when what they are slipping into the mix is murdering their unborn babies!

And how do they accomplish the ruse? they lie. Your healthcare cost will go down $2500/year, you can keep your doctor or a fetus isn’t a person!

These facts should make anyone examine and hopefully abhor the thought they could be a liberal!

Well, T, it depends on how being "liberal" is being defined exactly. And whether or not my opinions have changed on a particular subject. For instance, before I experienced firsthand on a personal level the disaster Obama Care was, I thought it sounded like a good idea.

The "wall" is more or less leftists in general.

Who is the wall? Did I miss something?

Shannon, you seem to be conservative to me but I’m curious. About what would you say you are liberal? The reason I ask is because I have met other people who say they are liberals and when I ask them how they feel about this or that they give me conservative opinions and I don’t understand the disconnect on their part.

Yeah, I am definitely more conservative than liberal by most standards.

I know what you mean about searching for an angle. I"m not sure these ladies intentionally seek those angles, but some of them can be pretty relentless about them once they've decided to go that route. After you chimed in that you agreed with me, she messaged me privately thinking you might be about to attack her and go a few rounds with her verbally. As if. Why does everything seem so dang polarized now? Conversations like that make me want to throw my hands up, say screw it and walk away. Not because I can't hold my own or stand my ground but because it's like talking to a brick wall.

Also Shannon, as far as "having your back", I have about had my fill of lefties always searching for an angle, instead of just seeing a feel-good story, good news, positive change, etc.,

for what it is, nothing more, nothing less!

Hi Shannon, sorry that I didn't respond earlier. I was at a movie, 1917, great movie!

You seem pretty conservative to me, at least on various topics we've discussed.

You could easily join his campaign, Angie.

The issue of abortion is just one more thing that sets me apart from the people I used to know so well. I know you have witnessed some of those discussions. (Thanks again for having my back the other day, by the way, even though that was a completely different issue). I have never considered myself either Democrat or Republican, but I am more conservative than liberal, I suppose. Except that I do believe in getting along and being slow to judge another....love, family, standing up for what's right, being a good friend and neighbor....your standard American ideals. At least that's among what they're supposed to be. Things both conservatives and liberals supposedly want. Some political disagreements I easily shrug off as to each their own. But then there are issues like this and I wonder how anyone can possibly get on board with the Democratic agenda.

Yes, thanks for sharing T, she came around and worked for positive change.

I am not sure if it was in one of her books or if it was another author who shared this, but she never pursued any part of Roe v Wade. She was pursued and used by a couple of activist feminists and got caught up in something much larger than she could have ever imagined. Many people do not realize that.

      Well done AB!

      And

      Let’s not forget Norma Leah Nelson McCorvey (September 22, 1947 – February 18, 2017),

better known by the legal pseudonym "Jane Roe", who was the plaintiff in the landmark American lawsuit Roe v. Wade in 1973.

In her first book, the 1994 autobiography, I Am Roe, McCorvey wrote of her sexual orientation. For many years, she had lived quietly in Dallas with her long-time partner, Connie Gonzales. "We're not like other lesbians, going to bars," she explained in a New York Times interview. "We're lesbians together. We're homers."

That same year, she became a Christian and voiced remorse for her part in the Supreme Court decision. McCorvey worked as part of the pro-life movement, such as Operation Rescue.

At a signing of I Am Roe, McCorvey was befriended by evangelical minister and National Director of Operation Rescue Flip Benham and later baptized on August 8, 1995, by Benham, in a Dallas, Texas, backyard swimming pool, an event that was filmed for national television.

Two days later she announced that she had quit her job at the abortion clinic she was working at and had become an advocate of Operation Rescue's campaign to make abortion illegal.

McCorvey's second book, Won by Love, was published in 1998. She explained her change on the stance of abortion with the following comments:

“I was sitting in O.R.'s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. 'Norma', I said to myself, 'They're right'. I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that's a baby! It's as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth—that's a baby!

I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality. Abortion wasn't about 'products of conception'. It wasn't about 'missed periods'. It was about children being killed in their mother's wombs. All those years I was wrong. Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion—at any point—was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear.”

Shortly thereafter, McCorvey released a statement that affirmed her reception into the Catholic Church, and she was Confirmed as a full member.

Later in life, McCorvey stated that she was no longer a lesbian.

On August 17, 1998, she was received into the Roman Catholic church by Father Frank Pavone, the International Director of Priests for Life and Father Edward Robinson in Dallas.
