A Frog's View On Obamacare

Greg has many opinions when it comes to politics and education. He has no qualms with voicing his opinion..

We Are Screwed

I see no good coming out of this health-care plan that just was passed and signed by President Obama.

My thoughts are this: It seems our government can't even keep control of Social Security, of the deficit, heck they couldn't even get "cash for clunkers" right. How will they be able to control health-care?

I have not had health insurance for a few years now; I cannot afford it. My wife is disabled and is on medicaid.

What will the new health-care plan do for us? I haven't studied the whole plan, but I do now that I will now be forced to get insurance. I can't pay all the bills I have now; how can I add this to it? If I don't get insured I face fines.

I know they have already cut my wife off of some of her required medications.

I have very "bad" vibes about this health-care plan.

We have reached a whole new place here in the disenchanted States. United we are not anymore. At this point I have an understanding that 37 States will pass legislation blocking Obamacare.

Obamacare has already caused civil disobedience. Supposedly, certain Congress and Senate people have been threatened. Are we looking at a "civil war"?

Your Views

Your views are very important to me. I will not hate you if you disagree with me.

Do you think the plan will work?

I don't have faith in our government and I think Obamacare is a bad move.

I just pray my wife's health-care will not be affected.

Let's hear your thoughts!!

Well first fc, my wife died and through the bad care of a hospital because of the cuts made because of Obama care.

Socialism doesn't work and this bill is socialism at it's top level.

Hey Froggy I'm sorry you can't afford insurance. There are millions out there living without health insurance. So what happens when you or those millions get sick and need a doctor? Your bills are paid by my taxes. We're already paying for health care through taxes.

Your "vibes" and "feelings" are real but have you *thought* this through?

I agree with your estimate. My son-in-law was approved for disability, so my daughter's Medicaid was discontinued. He will not get Medicare for 1 1/2 years. Of course he is disabled because of health problems, but he has no insurance. She still has Medicare at a private cost of over $1200 per year. They make $1360 a month for a family fof three. I think with Obamacare their situation will get worse. I find that sad, and worse--I am trying to help them. It is impossible. Thanks for your insights.

Well t has been almost 24 hours and I guess Micky meant it when he called it quits.. I know he must be checking in so I just had a brilliant idea. I heard some folks talking about the game of Monopoly.. Just a game but in a way much like our every day lives. Now I want to play Monopoly with Mickey, and see how he likes the game played by his rules, every round we tally up our holdings, the one with the most needs to divvy it up with those who have the least.. Now one problem is that game will never end. Another problem is it won't be any fun or challenge. It will be blah, kind of like living under communism.. Ok Micky you gave me the last word, and adios my friend

Terrific and honestly written hub. This bill is a major disaster that will hurt more people than it can possibly help. The government doesn't have a good track record running anything, so no good can come of this. There are some things in the bill that are of value, but the bad outweighs the good. Our only hope is that the challenges to this bill in the courts are successful and it is struck down. Only then do we have a chance at reform that makes sense.

Socialism is evil. It is prelude of communism. In the beginning people will eventually like it. But... when power is secure just watch. Never believed it will happen in America.

From what you say I can only believe you favor Communism,,

I cast my vote for freedom and self reliance,, If I earn something I like to keep it, I don't want to divvy it up with a government that uses my money to buy the votes of those who have the same opportunity to work that I have had,

but they don't want to work, they just want to take, take,

and take... Your ideal world is Communism, I do feel sorry for people like you and I only hope Americans see where that kind of thinking and our current administration is taking our country.. God Bless America!!

We already have forced slavery. Look- what you believe has nothing to do with the Golden Rule or Jesus. You have nothing to do with fairness. You've made your point. Just spread that rhetoric out there.

If you were for fairness you might find compassion for the men and women who work 60 hours a week for the same pay as someone who works 40 hours for the same pay. A person is giving 20 hours more of their life and of course they should be taxed the same?

Of course you have no "rhetoric" for our courts!

Good luck. I won't be checking this hub out anymore. You can have the last word. I guess you win. You, the United Fruit Company, etc. You'll have to google that one. Otherwise you don't know what I'm talking about because you're brainwashed.

"For a man who fought for this country I would like to think your fight was for freedom, not forced slavery". You sorry human being- it was money that cost millions of lives in Vietnam. It is/was capitalism running amok! You are a blank! You're not worthy of another word from me.

You complained about some guy living in a million dollar home built by hard working people, then you say we need workers not executives who steal the labor!!

Look unless everyone has the same job, same capabilities and the same willingness to work and live just like everyone else, it cannot happen unless we embrace communism, but even then there will be those who run the kingdom, suck up the money and hard work of individuals, and make sure NO ONE has the opportunity to pursue a career and possible wealth.

Make a choice,, Free men working for those who can afford to pay them a living wage, or Communism!!

For a man who fought for this country I would like to think your fight was for freedom, not forced slavery

Who is working hard? Most people who have MORE don't work. They shuffle paper. They do not get inside a septic tank. They do not PULL THEIR WEIGHT! Work hard? Most of the people who will afford the best of everything make people like me work more. They don't. People who have homes that are worth millions of dollars built that home with THEIR labor? Come on sir. David Crosby spends his life ruining his health and gets a kidney from very probably a poor person because he can afford it? He worked for it?

Our injustice system caters to those with the deepest pockets. Ask Alan Dirschowitz, one of the greatest lawyers ever. Work hard -my potato sir. We need workers- not executives who steal the workingman's labor! Reward the rich with some work of their own!

Mickey dee I am not certain I follow all your comments yet I find some cases where I agree with you. I do not agree that those who work hard and earn the right to buy the best, are not to be entitled to the best health care they can afford only because someone else who is less fortunate or wealthy is expected to the same entitlement. Redistribution of the wealth is not the answer!

We- the US - is number 1 in imprisoning more people than any country in the world. Yippy- we're number 1. The problem is YOU HAVE TO BUY A LAWYER! Let's see- the rich get better health care in Canada and the US. The rich get the best lawyers in Canada too as well as the US. What we have is two hells. It's like voting in America. Neither candidate is qualified so let's vote for the lesser of two evils. That's voting for evil. I know how this country is run. Until this country and it's people get truly right with God and insist on the Golden Rule, we will have Satan running it. Every religion has some form of the Golden Rule. Obey that and we don't need a discussion.

Well you are very smart. You are the smartest. I cannot compare. I will however throw my lot in with Jesus of Nazareth who gave away His health-care to everybody. He never did allow a richer person to be able to by a kidney over a poor person.

Dude if you think our almighty American government is just you are very sadly mistaken. Do a search on unjustly and wrongfully imprisoned. Your search will never, ever end. Yes I remember the stories about slavery. It supposedly ended at the end of the Civil War. Think again. Reconstruction was very often worse than slavery. I'm a Vietnam Veteran - you can sell your propaganda somewhere else. you can't prove this country is on the right course to me. Great American? My family has defended this country for a century. My grand nephew is in Afghanistan right now. I don't know what you're selling but I ain't buying.

      Jesus gave His health-care away!

It's the Golden Rule- that supersedes all the rules you can come up with! Jesus said this law is above all other laws. That is THE LAW. The richest should have the best health care? That's not what Jesus lived. Jesus believed in the Golden Rule and His health-care so much that he gave up His life for His convictions.

This is a socialized government- for the wealthy. Our food, water, and air is compromised. If something is not changed we will work for the medical profession. Count and follow the money. Cures are being squelched for profit. Do some research please.

I must be confused, our rich corporations are being taxed to pay for the folly of the ObamaNation, folks are cheering for the destruction of these corporations, these same folks seem to forget who provides jobs for many Americans.. Now I must admit that our Government is now the largest employer, and if and when everyone works for the Government, Unions will be out of the question, wages will be determined by politicians, and we will be at the mercy of politicians.

Do you remember stories about slavery in the USA?

Keep applauding the destruction of those big corporations and soon the last one standing will be Government and that can only survive under a slave nation!!

What makes a difference is having a government and workers that care. I myself have been in the emergency room at Spruce Pine, NC. I waited for an hour and there was a lady in front of me that had been there over an hour. I had extreme pain and infection from a tooth having been pulled.

I've seen my mother in the emergency room in Asheville, NC almost all night.

I've seen a Veteran writhing on the floor at the VA for the entire time I was there which was considerable.

Turn around time for a broken clavicle? I'd say 5 hours. There is hardly anything to do for a broken clavicle. They put a figure 8 on you and that's it.

My daughter said she had the best health care in England. She went in for a virus or flu. They found an irregularity in her heartbeat and did all kinds of tests.

What the United States of America has is false at best. People cannot afford health-care and show up at the emergency room and don't pay. Well somebody has to pay.

One video doesn't tell the whole story.

It's also a shame for a rich capitalist to use our nation's resources and pay virtually nothing for the usage and make tons of money. It's bad for our government to bail out a bank and they don't pay anything back and make billions in the process.

Whatever this video says I could say the same about here.

The bottom line is that the GOLDEN RULE needs to be in place and practiced. But I'm a dreamer. I'm not defeated though. Anyone who doesn't practice the Golden Rule is.

Taxes on taxes? Like we don't have them here in the US?

The Golden Rule- It's the rule that every religion has a form of. Practice this and no other rules matter. Thanks

It's interesting. Everyone thinks we have free healthcare in Canada. Not so. I pay an extra 215 bucks for extended care and still have to battle with Blue Cross to get reimbursed. A pensioner friend of mine broke his foot the other day and they have billed him for the cast and say it's not covered. How free is that. The examples are staggering. They get it out of you one way or another. Thank you for the hub.

Nothing good can come out of socialist motives.

Where were the stories like your's and your wife's when this was being passed. You are totally correct on what is going to happened. Those who can't afford insurance will be forece to buy it. This does not make senxe at all. Sound like communism.

      Keep on hubbing!
