Political Perspective: A Search for the Truth
This is not your typical politics talk, and by no means is this an Obama bashing event. My goal for writing this is to simply share my view of begining to take a deeper look. I've never delved into the world of politics, honestly I never had the interest. Admittingly more so probably because I haven't educated myself enough in the politics department to really think that I had any business speaking my opinion upon.
I do know this. My grandfather served as a Seargent Major in the Army and retired proudly after completing his duty. He served in the World War II, Vietnam, and Korean War. He had collected many awards and medals, though he modestly never mentioned them, to me anyway. He was too busy keeping me happy with his quality time spoiling me with trips to the park, shopping, mornings at Mc Donalds, just being my Grandpa. I knew he'd accomplished much just by recognizing the respect he'd gained from many people, along with wise comments here and there referring to his past experiences while in the Army. He'd mention old Army buddies he became very close with, and never failed to raise the U.S. flag on every Veterans or Memorial Day. I have fond memories of him often wallking around the house singing many different marching and running cadences. He was just a great man who did everything to make sure his family was taken care of, and through his patriotism I could tell that he maintained that same love for his country and fellow soldiers by his side. Fittingly, his license plate read, ARMY E9. He was very proud of his country and even wore his dress uniform when we buried him 17 years ago. Though he never sat me down and explained in words to me the importance of what a Republican is, or what a Democrat is, he taught me a world of patriotism through just his actions alone.
Being home fulltime now, has given me the opportunity to take a glance into the politics world and try to learn more. But it's come down to this, it all seems like gibberish to me. It's such a turn off when I hear of any conversation derived from a "Republican" point of view, or a "Democratic" point of view. I find it a bit confusing that people will go as far as to label themselves belonging to any "party". I understand that each has it's own idea as to what direction the government should take on certain issues. I've always had my own take on particular issues myself, yet I've never labeled myself belonging to any party. I've always believed actions speak louder than words. So, Republican or Democrat? Quite frankly, I don't think it matters. At this point I believe that politics have become just merely a huge distraction from deeper issues at hand. The question that runs through my mind, is "Who is really running the show?" I've always felt that there's gotta be more to our government that meets the eye. It seems common sense to me that the whole politics battle draws in all this attention that ultimately just divides us.
I'm not trying to pull anyone's faith away from our governments system and patriotism for our country. I believe greatly that our country has so much to offer and has come a long way from what we were. But I also believe, that along the way as we've grown as a country, the very foundation of how we became to be has transformed into something that is compromising our true freedom.
In Abraham Lincoln's House Divided Speech given in 1858, he speaks of the issue of slavery in our country. It contains the quotes "A house divided against itself cannot stand," which is taken from Matthew 12:25. "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand." I find this quote very interestingly relating to the issue of our politics today.
Interesting Presidential Quotes
"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country… . corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."
— Abraham Lincoln
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs. "— Thomas Jefferson
Call me crazy, but I've always visualized our government system being slowly overtaken by filthy rich individuals worldwide, not just ours, but other governments as well. Money speaks, and as much as I placed belief in the words of hope Obama had delivered, I'm slowly learning that there's much to be learned at the root of the leadership of our country. I'm beginning to think that he, as well as anyone else placed as President in our future is pretty much bought and paid for. What I'm saying is that, Obama is not the real issue, there seems to be a greater role in play that we are all missing due to the fact that we're so consumed with a vast amount of issues brought upon us due to the politics game. What if it was all there for that intention to begin with? Our eyes being diverted away from what's really going on.
The good news is that there are ways to learn of many issues going on with our country and its leadership. Many may shrug off much as being farfetched or just conspiracy theories. But if you truly claim to be open minded, I invite you to watch an awesome video, The Obama Deception that reviews the basics of what is truly out there. Remember as you journey out to learn of information of the truth, that there is a huge difference between conspiracy and actual documentation.
