About Fleshy Restuarants
Is society as a rule, in the West, following the Roman template of disintergrating into cultural decay? That is what happened to the great Roman Empire world power of ancient times. I am sure many back then were asking the same kind of things of their society that seemed to run amok. I am sure many then also thought “It could never happen” to the great Roman Empire. But, it did turn into rubble in a slow motion way.
So, now we are in the 21st Century with many marvelous things. Things change so rapidly. Is it a symptom of impending cultural collapse when naked restaurants begin to appear in major cities around the world? A fad? But, isn’t it a sign of some sort of perverse societal sickness that permeates like a virus into the minds of people? Why on earth would anyone pay huge prices for a meal to eat in public naked? To see their private parts? Sneak and peek?
It is not the sic thing to do, IMO. It is a total morality rebellion. Well, the first naked restaurant opened up in London, a rather queer sort of place in many aspects. Called, The Buyadi, which just opened, has a waiting list of 27,000 patrons. Patrons, upon arrival, go to a change room to disrobe and put their clothes into lockers (think gym) and given a gown. Upon being seated, the patron can choose to take it off or not, to eat in the flesh. Bamboo screens between tables create privacy. All cell phones and photos are prohibited. The restaurant in in central London and a dinner is around 60 pounds per person. London has a large gay community which no doubt account for most of the 27,000 patrons on the waiting list. The Roman Empire had its own immorality that added to its demise.
Now, Japan will have their own naked restaurant starting in July, 2016. Located in Tokyo, it is more selective and discreet. It is more classy than the London eatery. Called, The Amrita, which is Sanskrit for “immorality”, will open late July with many more rules that exclude. Dinners run anywhere from $80 to over $300. Patrons will be given paper underwear. Must be between the ages of 18-60 and must not be more than 33 lbs. above their average weight for their height. Suspected fat patrons will be given a scale to perch on to prove themselves. This restaurant is reservation only and meals must be prepaid. Even if you fit all their specs, but have a tattoo, you will be rejected. Flirting with other naked patrons of the opposite sex is frowned upon and all entering surrender their cell phones or cameras to a box on each table. The waiters are men in G-strings and there is also a free “Men’s show” akin to Chippendales.
Okay, so you go to either place. Are you really there for the food or to peek at one’s private parts? Why would that be worth the exorbitant price? I mean, all patrons have seen them before at some time. If you are on a date, odds are, you will be shagging before the night is gone, which means, you will be naked and physical, something you can do in a public restaurant.
Sexy does sell.
