An entire Team of Democrats, (Team Dem) 'Took a Knee' during Trump's Inauguration

Updated on August 11, 2017
abwilliams profile image

I took an interest in Politics at a young age. The Goldwater-Johnson race fascinated me and I've been paying attention ever since.

When President-Elect Trump says - it will not be Politics as usual in D.C.

The Democrats respond with...oh yeah, observe our Actions!

We shall see about that!

When President-Elect Trump speaks of Uniting a Divided Nation -

Democrats respond with an immediate, in his face/in America's face...Division - with threats of boycotting the Newly elected President's Inauguration!

Congressman John Lewis has stated that he will not be attending the Inauguration Ceremony. He stated that this will be the very first time in his one hundred years in office (what? fifty then) that he will have boycotted the Inauguration of a new President.

But, not so. It turns out that he also boycotted George W. Bush's Inauguration, who, incidentally happens to be, the last Republican to hold office.

Hmm...interesting!

He probably just forgot about that and it's nothing more than a coincidence...

No way of knowing for sure.

Also, no way of knowing this for sure, but I do wonder if each person that chose to 'take a knee', during the playing of the National Anthem this past year, also happen to align with the left, with the Democratic Party?

There is a definite pattern which develops with Dems and you have to admit that there are a lot of similarities here!

  1. Begin with One, Acting out.
  2. One turns to two, then to more, then to many... Acting out.
  3. Witness Acting out morph into yet another big game of... Follow the Leader!

Seems to be their favorite game, Follow the Leader, but the Dems definitely do not play well with others!

Others, as in Republicans!

Oh my, the condemning of the man and he hasn't even been sworn in yet.

My gosh, the fault-finding coming from the Democrats, for a man that hasn't experienced Day One of his Presidency!

They're not even willing to give him his first moment in the spotlight, at the Presidential Inaugaration...what will they do when faced with the Reality, he'll be there for an entire Term?

Is it asking too much for all to put their differences aside and attend the Inauguration?

Probably is asking a lot. I guess that I'm expecting too much from the:

  • D o as we say, not as we do
  • E nough yes we can, yes we will, yes we did (we're done)
  • M ove out of our way, we do not wish to play
  • S howing Out, by not Showing Up

They are choosing to Act Up, not Act Accordingly!

Why are they in office?

Who do they Represent, do they know, especially the John Lewis' that have been there for way too long?

Can I get an Amen for Term Limits?

Have they forgotten their way or has their way always meant...having it...their way?

I guess we will see, come Friday, if they show up.

Is it all talk, will they show up or sit it out?

It certainly is not in America's best interest when the Dems aren't even willing to show up For the Party.

Are we to believe that they will consider our best interest and meet the new President halfway, a part of the way, a small fraction of the way, at any other time?

The majority of Americans put their families and their Country before political parties.

They need to know that their elected Representatives will always do the same.

It wasn't Republicans alone that put a Businessman into office.

Concerned Democrats crossed over and Independents showed up for Trump.

These people aren't gloating, they want to know that they made the right choice.

They felt that he, Donald Trump was a better choice than Hillary Clinton and were willing/are willing to take a chance by giving him a chance!

It is in their best interest, to see unhindered results!

The majority of Americans do not have time for these political games, their plates are full!

These Democrats threatening to be No Shows are not doing themselves, their Districts, their States any favors. They certainly are not doing their Party any favors!

Come Friday, we shall see,

I predict a bunch of Dems will Follow the Leader by taking the low road.

Far too many will be No Shows.

America will be taking a kick in the gut...once again...as the choice is made to 'take a knee'!

Hopefully, I am wrong. Oh yes I can and oh yes I will, admit when I am wrong!

Praying for the President-elect and his family and praying for a smooth transition for our Country's sake!

______________________________________

Sadly, I wasn't wrong and what's more... Dems and RINOs have been 'taking a knee' ever since.

Team Dem is at it again!

Suddenly, Neil Gorsuch is not so.....'Appealing'.

They are the best of the best at gaming. Representing? Not so much.

Yep. I was baffled why they used him for the rebuttal instead of an upcoming Democrat, but then there aren't really any up and coming Democrats are there? At least no one who can appeal to the working white middle class who won Trump the election.

Now I think it's obvious they picked Beshear as payback for him supporting Obama's agendas when he was Governor.

"ACA is working, and nobody shows that better than Gov. Beshear. He makes one of the best cases why we should keep the ACA," Sen. Schumer told Jake Tapper, also noting that Beshear "comes from a working-class, mid-Western background."

McConnell said Beshear's implementation of Obamacare on the Kynect exchange and Medicaid expansion has been a "disaster" that is still hurting Kentucky more than a year after Beshear retired and was replaced by Republican Gov. Matt Bevin.

"Obamacare has pushed Kentucky's insurance market to the brink of collapse, and now Democrats want to throw a victory party. I'm not sure how else to interpret their choice to respond to the president's address tonight," McConnell said. "The former governor of Kentucky is the poster child for Obamacare."

The bottom line - they picked Beshear because he's no longer in politics or running for office so they can have him go out there and lie about everything Trump and the Republicans say and do it without ruining a specific Democrat's career. They know that as a party having lost the entire country's support except for the coastal big cities the only card they have left to play is to lie about all their failures and then lie about the successful policies the Republicans are instituting to correct their failures.

Beshear and the zombies they placed in the diner is their pathetic attempt to paint today's Democrat party as made up of fly over country Americans as opposed to what they really think about fly over country Americans as Obama stated here:

      https://youtu.be/DTxXUufI3jA?t=40

Today's Democrat party as made up of fly over country Americans? A total lie but in keeping with the approved liberal tactics of the Democrat party, to lie and deceive because any thinking American will reject them if they know their truth about their agendas.

Taze, I found Beshear's rebuttal in it's entirety.

      Yawn~~~I couldn't get through it.

You definitely shared the highlight clip....he wasn't sure if he's a proud Democrat or a proud Republican. He probably should have just stuck with proud American from the getgo!

Aw man I missed the rebuttal!

I will do that and report back.

Did y'all see the pathetic rebuttal by firmer Governor Beshear?

      A clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3XMfCLpeGc

This is a governor who at the end of his term recently was replaced by a Republican governor in a not so close election and in the last election had the democrat majority legislature House in KY overwhelmingly given over to a republican majority for the first time in over 95 years! Republicans not only picked up the Kentucky House and already owned the Senate but unseated the top Democratic leader Kentucky Speaker Greg Stumbo. Beshear's reiign as governor was responsible for Republicans sweeping control of his state from the Democrat party just like Obama handed the nation over to the Republicans on a silver platter, local, state and federal governments! And these losers are who the democrats think are going to win them votes now?

Why would the Democrats think Beshear is anyone to be giving a rebuttal to Trump? He is a joke in Kentucky, most famous for his praise of chicken and biscuits?

a.b... I have just watched Trumps' fabulous speech filled with hope, America at it's best & his sensible, impressive plans for our nation. I'm so proud. The speech brought tears to my eyes. How grateful I am that we are not having to listen to that screaming bitch of a liar, the politician from the Hall of Shame...have you noticed, she's looking more like George Soros everyday? Evil & ugliness shows right through.......

Praise the Lord.... We finally have the chance to regain our beautiful, fabulous country again.

Of course the usual loons will make their ignorant remarks that merely reconfirm their stupidity & immaturity, but I laugh only harder and longer each time. They haven't a clue how pathetic they are in displaying their envy....and having their tantrums.

They need to know it's OK now...they can take their little red wagons filled with doggy poop & go home. No one will miss them. :)

      Yes I do remember. Sad!

Sanx - You wonder why anyone voted...Really?

Would you rather have had Obama stay in office indefinitely? Would you rather have a King?

The United States Government was designed to be small! It's purpose is to protect the people and stay out of the way of the people, so that they may prosper.

Currently we have department within department, within multiple Departments creating gridlock, because there are too many hoops to go through, too many obstacles to maneuver....nothing can get done!

While nothing gets done, (nothing that benefits the People) we do see tax increases, we do get more and more regulation, because these departments within departments have to find ways to hang onto their unnecessary jobs.

Things have to change! It starts and ends with us, the People, to remind D.C. that they work for us and spending has to be reigned in!

We need to be Energy Independent once and for all and by all Means!

Parents must not be limited (by the Government) from getting the best possible education for their children. That's all Betsy Devos is saying and I wholeheartedly agree.

It is Our Business, not the government's, where we prefer our children receive their education.

I am anxious and hopeful that today will be the beginning of dismantling where necessary and building up where necessary. Our Military must be built back up. If not, how can the Gov possible do it's job...Protecting the American People?

Let's give this Adminstration a chance, okay?

Am I serious? Are you serious? ...you didn't even attempt to answer one of my questions, which of course I knew you wouldn't because you can't. In stead, as always you harp upon your victim hood mentality about yourself and typically every topic you express any thoughts upon. Facts or reality mean nothing to you because you are obsessed with victim hood and blame which has lead you to hate America, conjure up some conspiracy theory about virtually everything and frankly it makes people pity you which reading your last comment seems to be what your goal is.

Disrespect you? Respect needs to be earned and your disrespect of America, Americans and the legacy of the greatest country on earth demonstrates you have no idea how respect is earned. Every time you open your mouth on any subject you disrespect anyone and all the people you say do and did the sings you say which are seldom the truth, but that doesn't matter to you.

Thanks for proving once again you live in a dream world void of truth when you feign being disrespected as a reason to not answer simple questions.

After the last 8 years of doing nothing and preventing anything from passing I highly doubt the Democrats are not going to do the same to them. The Republicans won by doing it and did it with ruthlessness. They wrote the play book and they are going to return that favor. The sad truth is that Trump and his mis-fits are going to give them everything they need. Right now they can not even nominate a guy in his cabinet because you might as well quit being a politician regardless of party if you do. Its like the best of the worst people you can pick. Lets pick a guy who does not want the EPA to exist to run it? This guy dismantled the EPA in Oklahoma and the state has more Earth quakes then a vlcano due to fracking. A woman to run education who hates public education and can not even answer quetions that are public knowledge? I do not have to be a Republican or Democrat to go what the hell. I think its more frustrating to look at all this and wonder why anyone voted.

DTMB, Are you serious? It is quite remarkable that you would disrespect me on more than one occasion and now ask me for "proof" while disrespecting me once again! Perhaps I missed something, but I fail to understand why I need to convince you of anything. And I fail to see how I "appear" on Hubpages will have a major impact on my life, one way or another. Apparently you are concerned with your standing in this online community, otherwise you would not have made such a comment. And if that suits you then I have no problem with that.

But except for a six year tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, I have been a professional musician for most of my adult life. Did you know that it can be as frightening and uncomfortable to perform in front of 20 people as it is to perform in front of 2000? Well, it's true, but I have long since overcome stage fright. The secret of overcoming such fear is in your perspective.

When I first played a festival on Salina Street in downtown Syracuse many years ago, it was one of the biggest audiences I had ever played for. I was so nervous I couldn't stop my hands from shaking. In fact, it was quite embarrassing because my whole body was shaking, almost like an epileptic seizure. It was impossible to play my guitar, and so I held on to the microphone with both hands so no one could see how they were shaking. After that gig I did a lot of soul searching. And it wasn't long after that I was able to step back and see the big picture, and once I saw the big picture, I never had a problem with stage fright ever again. So what is the big picture?

The big picture is that the people in the audience don't care about me. They don't care if I live or die. When I am on stage I am nothing but a commodity for the audience to consume, and then to discard at the end of the night like an empty case of beer, or an empty bottle of Jack. Furthermore, I was born alone, and I will surely die alone, unless I end up on the Titanic. Consequently, why should I care what the audience thinks about me? They don't care if I am happy or sad, or if I am sick, or even if I am homeless. They only care about their favorite song. And if I play it well, they love me for at least 5 minutes. To the audience I am nothing but a prostitute being pimped out by a bar owner, or a concert promoter. I would be a fool to think that they would give a damn about me; a bigger fool to worry about their idle gossip. And I feel the same way about Hubpages. Nobody here gives a damn about me, and I'm not even getting paid to do this. Nobody here is putting a tip in my hat either. So why should I care how I "appear"?

Say what you want, and then feel how it makes you feel. But I will continue to be who I am. Your words cannot shape me, nor can they break me. As you can see, I simply turn your words into gasoline. No, I'm not going to take you by the hand and lead you into the light. You'll have to find your own way. If you would have treated me like a human being from the start, I would have been more than happy to point you in the right direction, and save you lots of time. But as it stands, you are on your own. The information you seek is freely available here on the internet. All you have to do is go and get it. Better yet, just keep believing what you have become accustomed to. It looks good on you.

At the risk of taking you hub page further off topic I have a question for the biscuit man. AB delete it if you don't want me going there but I am curious. When you, biscuit man (as opposed to woman), when you say "but I am convinced that this whole system is nothing but an oligarchy masquerading as a democratic republic, with a shadow government actually electing and controlling the Presidents."

What facts convince you of this? To say that then you must believe the country was an oligarchy with a shadow government from its inception, no? Or do you believe somewhere along the line of history it became an oligarchy secretly? If so when and how did that happen or don't you know? If you don't know then tell me what facts lead you to that conclusion or if you believe it was run by a shadow government from the start explain to me how it has progressed for almost 250 years, generation after generation without this "conspiracy" being outed or made obvious to everyone even until today.

I ask these questions because if you can't answer them and I strongly believe you can't provide any facts demonstrating what you say you believe, then I would suggest that you refrain from throwing around such ludicrous accusations because my friend, believe whatever you wish, to speak it makes you appear to be a first class loon. Not saying you are but answer the questions.

Savvydating, regardless of your personal attacks, I will not respond in kind, nor offer a defense to your fanciful fiction.

When I was in grade school, I remember a certain little girl being rude and giving me dirty looks. One day, I think I was 7 years old, I went crying to the teacher about this little girl who was being mean to me. It was on that day that I experienced one of the first epiphanies of my life. Mrs Turpine sat me down and began to laugh. She explained that most likely the little girl was mad at me because she liked me, and I was not paying attention to her.

And so, not long after I drew a crude picture of a flower and placed it on the little girls desk. To my surprise, the next day she drew a picture of the sun and gave it to me. I was dumbfounded by the revelation. It wasn't long after that I became good friends with the little girl, and subsequently had lots of girlfriends thereafter.

I am flattered that you like me, and you have my attention. Can we stop with the insults now?

I appreciate your comment. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican. I am an an Anarchist, and so I don't believe in government at all. I would like to be wrong about Donald Trump, but I am convinced that this whole system is nothing but an oligarchy masquerading as a democratic republic, with a shadow government actually electing and controlling the Presidents. Consequently, I see Trump as simply another puppet. I do not believe the ruling class will ever allow the proletariat to rise far above it's present condition, and short of a revolution, I see no substantial changes in the status quo forthcoming.

Of course I did not appreciate Trump's crude commentary and I've mentioned that more than once! He was not my 1st or even my 5th choice....it took time for me to get behind him and begin to support him.

I heard a lead protester interviewed after, said she was concerned his cabinet picks have no experience lol Experienced at what? Standing by and doing nothing while America sinks to new lows? Like the previous 20 years of "experienced"politicians and appointed bureaucrats that have led America down this path to nowhere, 20 trillion in debt and climbing with the interest rate? Give me a break, the whole reason Trump was elected is because he (and his appointments) aren't going to be that.

She also emphatically made the point all America is racist because they elected Trump. So we're racist when we elect a black man and racist when we elect a rich white man.

I loved the interviewed, it demonstrated exactly how out of touch and unhinged the protesters are, that is if the violence and destruction they were exacting isn't enough. 6 officers injured 200 people arrested at the inauguration. Yeah we should have voted for the candidate of anarchists?

Thanks, Paula! I'd just had my hair done, so I took a picture of myself right afterward, in my car, to send to someone. Lol.

Yes, Taze did say exactly that. I have been in love with him ever since, but don't tell him because he probably already has a big head. Ha!

Yes indeed, men would do well to follow Taze's example if they ever plan to get anywhere with women. For real.

AB, thanks for giving us this brief time to talk about men who love their wives. We couldn't help ourselves. I'm sure you understand. ;)

Yves.....Really?? Taze said that when he looks at his wife, his heart melts? OMG, I think mine just melted too. (abwilliams, forgive me for veering off politics at the moment...)

MEN, do you, CAN you see how simple it is to woo a female? I personally do not know a woman who would not give anything to hear her husband/significant other utter the words about his wife that Taze did. Apparently he has no idea that is what women think is SEXY!....( guys, it surely can't "hurt" in the sex dept!) and speaking of~~ Yves...(you're not my type) But.....GREAT new profile photo!! LOL

ab.....Fabulous hub. Your wisdom shines brightly!!

So true Savvy, it's a good thing that he has thick skin.

My smile quickly turned upside down upon hearing that Grief Counseling is being offered to students traumatized by Trump win.

      OMG what has 'school' become?

Taze, you crack me up, and the reason I think you are sexy is because you told me that 'your heart melts' every time you look at your wife. So sweet...

The thing is, AB, I know Trump is in for a very difficult four years. Conservatives must stand united. The liberals are going to use every tactic in the book to make Trumps life miserable. Consequently, we have to support one another in that context.

Yeah, okay....I'm one of those annoying INTP types who translates every single action or non-action into 'the Big picture.' Lol.

Savvy, your comment inspired me to write mine as often I am the lone voice fending off the America haters so I'm thankful for your company every time we agree. You are on the wrong track though about my sex appeal unless someone thinks it's sexy to bash liberals, which is what they would say I do. Of course like all their liberal tactics that would be a lie because all I do is tell it like it is when it concerns liberals. If that's bashing so be it, but I don't think it's sexy. :-)

Thank you Savvy! I do appreciate you taking the time to read my Article and commenting on it.

"The people rejected the demoralizing practices of the same". Great sentence!

The count is now 65, Democrats that do not plan to attend the Swearing-In. Deplorable!

      Thanks Taze!

Probably like most of you that write, I get a Title or an idea in my head and must start writing. I cannot get to the computer or a sheet of paper fast enough! Crazy?

You are so right, it is the Dems putting the nails in the coffin, with this type of behavior. But then, I don't think they can help themselves.

Ab So well done! Keep writing cause you are full of wisdom. We must remember that despite the fact that Hillarity lost the election because as a candidate she was so distasteful many Democrats stayed home rather than vote for her or Trump, were she elected president the Democrats and media would be applauding her every word, fawning over the smartest woman in the world being the first female President and hailing her adulterous, rapist husband as the first Gentleman.

If the recent Democrat shenanigans is the price America has to pay for having dodged that bullet Praise the Lord, I'll take it every time.

Ironically, just like running the worst possible candidate for president they could find the Democrats' behaviors now are simply putting another nail in the coffin of them being a national party.Patriotic Americans won't ever vote for such sore losers who are willing to turn their backs on our country and who we elect as President.

8 successful years of a Trump presidency will be the last nail in the coffin and then...

8 more of a Pence presidency will bury that coffin 6 feet under.

All too true. I would think they would choose not to embarrass themselves so thoroughly by acting like spoiled little brats, but apparently they're perfectly okay with looking ridiculous.

How idiotic to reject Trump as President before he even becomes the president, and to ignore the fact that he has already created a climate in which many businesses are choosing to stay in the United States---not to mention the stock market is up due to buyer confidence. But none of that matters to Dems. They want things to stay the same. Luckily, we are still a republic. The People rejected the demoralizing practices of "the same." I know I did.

Thanks for this article. Enjoyed it immensely.
