Donald Trump Quotes - the Good, the Bad & the Ugly
Donald Trump is possibly one of the most talked about people of 2016. Love him or hate him it looks like he's here to stay for a little bit longer so let's take a look at some of his good, bad and just plain down right ugly quotes of all time.
Donald Trump has enlightened us with some good and wise quotes over the years. You can't argue that he has a savvy business sense and that is why most of these quotes relate back to business.
"Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make."
This quote from the book Trump: The Art of the Deal is very good. The book was first published in 1987 and is an unguarded look at the mind of an entrepreneur and deal-maker.
"As an entrepreneur, I choose my teachers carefully, very carefully. I am extremely cautious of the people with whom I spend my time and to whom I listen."
This is another good quote not only for budding entrepreneurs, but for life in general.
"You have to think anyway, so why not think big?"
Trump really has lived up to this quote. Who ever thought he would really become the President of the United States of America.
"What separates the winners from the losers is how a person reacts to each new twist of fate."
Another good and wise quote from Trump and it is so true. Often it's not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens which really does make the difference.
"Without passion you don't have energy, without energy you have nothing."
I do believe this is why Trump has been a successful entrepreneur because he is passionate about the art of the chase and making the deal. If he can bring that same energy and passion to the White House you just never know what may happen.
"We've had soldiers that were so badly hurt and killed. I want their families to get something."
Trump does have a heart after all and does feel empathy. This was quoted on NBC's Meet the Press in 2015 however, some other odd and scary quotes also came out from the same interview.
"In the end, you're measured not by how much you undertake but by what you finally accomplish."
A very wise quote. Reminds me a lot of the saying don't bite off more than you can chew. This was another quote from the book Trump: The Art of the Deal.
Donald Trump doesn't seem to have much of a verbal filter so there's no surprises that over the years he has produced some pretty bad quotes.
"We are going to have an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout for the inauguration, and there will be plenty of movie and entertainment stars. All the dress shops are sold out in Washington. It’s hard to find a great dress for this inauguration."
This bad Trump quote came out during a phone interview with The New York Times following Meryl Streep's Golden Globe speech which she used to denounce Trump. He wanted to make it clear that there would still be plenty of stars at the inauguration, but it's safe to say there are still plenty of dresses in Washington. In fact there could be more than ever according to Bloomingdale's "We were expecting heavy traffic and it has not been that way. The last inauguration was a lot more people shopping." It's not only Bloomingdale's. Intermix reported the same. "We haven't seen anything yet. Usually, it is really big for us but this year we haven't seen anything yet, surprisingly."
"Happy New Year to all, including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do. Love!"
Bad or just bizarre, this quote was tweeted on the 1st January 2017. It does sound very similar to one of his other very bad Twitter quotes from 2013. "@realDonaldTrump: I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th."
"I will build a great wall – and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me – and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words."
Some may argue that this quote should be up in the 'good' section. Really though? Nothing sounds cheap about building a great wall. The border is nearly 2,000 miles long so I think Trump has miscalculated before quoting it will be inexpensive. I think Trump is envisaging a grand majestic wall like The Great Wall of China, but it will more than likely be a double layered fence which doesn't have the same ring to it as a great wall.
"It’s freezing and snowing in New York – we need global warming!"
Global warming has been a key topic in politics now for quite sometime. Trump however thinks we could be heading the opposite way. This quote was tweeted in the winter of 2012 and followed up by this one in 2015 "This very expensive global warming b******* has got to stop. Our planet is freezing."
"I think the only difference between me and the other candidates is that I’m more honest and my women are more beautiful."
Well I was debating which category this quote fell into because it's both bad and ugly. Are women really just possessions? According to this Trump quote it appears he thinks so.
"My Twitter has become so powerful that I can actually make my enemies tell the truth."
Social media is pretty powerful nowadays, but I'm not sure to the extent Trump quotes. This almost sounds like something Kanye West would tweet and some would say they are both as mad as each other.
"Sorry losers and haters, but my IQ is one of the highest — and you all know it! Please don’t feel so stupid or insecure; it’s not your fault."
Insulting and bad this quote really sums up why Donald Trumps head is so big.
"The other candidates — they went in, they didn’t know the air conditioning didn’t work. They sweated like dogs…How are they gonna beat ISIS? I don’t think it’s gonna happen."
This bad Trump quote was directed at his rival Republicans. Even though it's a figure of speech it's still quite funny that he refers to them sweating like dogs because dogs don't have the ability to actually sweat that much.
Donald Trumps hair style is not the only ugly thing he's been famously known for. The new President of the United States of America is also famously known for some very ugly quotes so be ready to cringe.
"All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me - consciously or unconsciously. That's to be expected."
Hmm really? Maybe I was watching a different show. This Trump quote was from 2004 and referring to the television show he hosted for fourteen seasons. If this were true you would have to ask yourself flirting with me or flirting with the prize?
"Robert Pattinson should not take back Kristen Stewart. She cheated on him like a dog & will do it again – just watch. He can do much better!"
Breakups and all the drama associated with them can be so ugly and surprise, surprise Trump felt the need to comment on this relationship numerous times back in 2012. He was a little too consumed almost to the point of being obsessed and gave plenty of advice to Robert Pattinson via Twitter. "Robert I'm getting a lot of heat for saying you should dump Kristen- but I'm right. If you saw the Miss Universe girls you would reconsider."
"Ariana Huffington is unattractive, both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man – he made a good decision."
Is there really any need to stoop this low and say such awful things. In 2012 Trump did and he voiced his rather ugly opinion on the 1997 divorce of the co-founder of the Huffington Post Ariana Huffington and former congressman Michael Huffington.
"If Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband what makes her think she can satisfy America?"
Once again stooping low and a rather nasty personal attack on Hillary Clinton back in 2015 via Twitter. It was later deleted, but unfortunately you can't take back words especially when you tweet it to the world.
"If I were running ‘The View’, I’d fire Rosie O’Donnell. I mean, I’d look at her right in that fat, ugly face of hers, I’d say ‘Rosie, you’re fired."
Oh dear another ugly personal attack this time during an ET interview.
"I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her."
I bet you are still cringing after reading that. Trump may have thought he was complimenting his daughter, but it's possibly one of the worst and creepiest things a father could say.
"My fingers are long and beautiful, as, it has been well documented, are various other parts of my body."
Unfortunately I think we all know what he's referring to here when he mentions various other body parts and if you are like me will be cringing once again. This quote came out in 2011 when he was defending his fingers to Page Six, but why would anyone want to defend their fingers? Once upon a time Graydon Carter the Vanity Fair editor described Trump in Spy magazine as a “short-fingered vulgarian.” Trump however didn't agree with this statement so for 25 years he's been sending Graydon pictures of his hands to try and prove they are well proportioned.
"You know, it really doesn’t matter what the media write as long as you’ve got a young, and beautiful, piece of ass."
I think trump has made his opinion on women quite clear over the years, but once again proves that he views a women's physical appearance well over and above anything else.
