Boris is Emperor Nero.

Updated on July 30, 2019

Nero and Boris.

I have been reading that there are historical similarities between Boris Johnson and Emperor Nero.

Nero was a buffoonish leader who liked to keep his people entertained. He was a serial adulterer and a controversial figure to boot. Today, we have Boris Johnson, who also appears buffoonish, is also a serial adulterer and is regarded by many as controversial.

In one article I saw, one pundit reckoned Boris was a reincarnation of Nero, himself. While I do not hold to the theory of reincarnation, not only are there similarities in Johnson's character and Nero's (as mentioned above) but they do look similar.

If you look at Boris and then a bust of Nero, the scruffy hair, the shape of the face, lips, nose etc, you can see a resemblance.

When Nero was Emperor of Rome, he was one of many disastrous leaders of the empire. Eventually, the empire fell partly because of the disastrous leadership of men like Nero.

Ever since 2010, we have also had useless leaders from David Cameron - Theresa May. Thanks to the austerity brought upon the poorest in our nation by the Tories, our nation, is collapsing in many places. There are levels of crime and poverty not seen for generations. The UK too, is a post-empire nation, without a doubt, in decline, we have been in decline since WWII, eclipsed by the US.

Boris, now finds himself, in the unenviable position, of presiding over our once-great nation.

Boris is full of promising words, but without deeds, that is all they are words. I may be wrong but Boris, like Nero, before him, could be a complete and utter disaster for the UK, for Brexit, and on the world stage.

On the other hand, he may not, time will tell.

Who can forget Boris, when he was Mayor of London, celebrating the 2012 Olympics. Suspended on a zip wire, waving two British flags, also Boris's clownish behaviour, his gaffs etc. Similarly, Nero liked to entertain or distract his people from their woes. Many have speculated though, Boris is very intelligent, this fooling around may be part of a strategy, to make him popular with the people. Maybe Nero's antics, were the same, "Bread and circuses", to keep the people happy.

Nero and Boris.

Boris's Rome Fixation.

Boris while at private school and Eton would have learnt Latin. As all historians will know, Latin is a dead language, but it gave rise to Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese, all languages, alive and well. English although it is classed as a Germanic language, contains Latin words, too.

Boris while at Eton, loved history, in particular, he liked the Roman Emperors. Strange really, when you consider, the above article I have written, on Boris and Nero.

One can indeed imagine, Boris back in ancient Rome, as one of the decadent Emperors, dressed from head to foot in a flowing toga. I'm sure like Nero, Boris would have loved the adulation and being worshipped as a god. With statues, built to honour him and elevate him, as a god.
