Dog the Bounty Hunter should be brought back to television.

Updated on December 6, 2010

HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Dog the Bounty Hunter should be brought back to television.

Let me start by saying this: In no way to I advocate using racial epithets. However, the circumstances that led to Dwayne "Dog" Chapman's show being canceled is completely unfair and unwarranted.

Dog the Bounty Hunter was canceled after a private conversation with his son was obtained by the National Enquirer. In the conversation Dog uttered a racial slur while talking to his son in what he thought was a private dialogue between a father and a son. He was not using the term at anyone directly; he just said the word itself.

Who among us has not had a private conversation that we may not be proud of and that we could get in trouble at a job over? I think that we all have. But the private talk between the Dog and his son was just that, a PRIVATE conversation.

After the tape was released, Chapman made a heartfelt apology to the American public and I believe that he truly meant what he said. I believe that he handled the situation like a man. He took responsibility for what he said, and he apologized from the bottom of his heart.

The Dog does a lot of good work and sets a great example on turning your life around and second chances. His show being taken off of the air is not making society any better; it is only taking away a man and his message of second chances and forgiveness.

YOUR TURN!

Dog the Bounty Hunter should be brought back to television.

A&E Officially Confirms the Return of 'Dog the Bounty Hunter'

As reported previously, Dog the Bounty Hunter is expected to go back to production after being on hold since November last year. Now, more confirmation comes from Dog Chapman's son Duane Chapman, wife Beth Chapman, and more importantly, A&E. read more

Hey people to all those who are bagging the show and more importantly Dog and co get a LIFE if you don't like the show then don't WATCH IT.... It is easy to judge people but until you know more about them in person and not just what they edit to show then you are just as bad as what you think of Dog..... People make mistakes and them there are people who are in it for the hurt they can cause people and in every family there are those people who would do anything to take the heat off themselves and blame their parents for theway they turned out. They are grown kids and if their lifes are mucked up then they need to take a look at themselves first before blaming some-one who is convient. As some-one who has been through a horrendous expierence at the hands of an ex then i can thank dog for giving me my faith back in God and some of the human race just not men at this time. So to those who think Dog and his Family are not fit to grace the screen then thats your opinion but as i said that to those of you take a good long hard look at yourseleves and those around you and you might just see that Dog is'nt that much different to every-one else.. So Thank You Dog for your help to me even if it is from afar. Prays to you

Hey guys you can look at leland and duane lee leaving in another way.....

With Duane Lee leaving this gave Leland the perfect opportunity to leave like he really wanted to but the way he left people would think more of him. I personally don't because if he really wanted to leave like i think he did he should of had the guts to say to his father that he wanted to leave. As for the conversation that they had that got leaked it makes you question who actually leaked that particular story????? Here's hoping that Dog can stand strong in the light of all what's happening with his family and continue helping those who really need the help and will appreciate it and not expect the glory as his sons did...... Prays are with you Dog

People they are human like all families they fight but at the end of the day they are grown men and women and its up to them to sort it out and decide if blood is thicker than water. The only losers in this are the kids as they miss out on seeing their uncles vice versa. But that does'nt mean the show should be canned because of this.

Everyone does and says things they regret and are not proud of at some point in their life. A private conversation between father and son was blown out of proportion only because of his celebrity status. He has said his apologies in the case. His show is a great example of kindness, love, and second chances. Everyone makes mistakes. He helps those who are lost, and he captures the repeat offenders and takes them where they belong, Jail! I let my young daughter (who loves Dog and the crew) to show her what happens to those who do drugs, break the law, and don't do what they're supposed to. My daughter knows that if u mess up bad enough, Dogs coming for you! If you haven't read his 2 books, I highly recommend them!! People may understand him better if they'd just read his books!!!! BRING DOG AND THE CREW BACK!!!!!

While what was said wasn't very nice and should never have been said, I can't help but feel that we have no right to judge Dog or Tucker as a result of it because we don't know the full facts.

I don't agree with what Dog has said in the past. It just goes to show you that there are still racism in this country. Now because he was caught doesnt excuse him. He wants to try and make people believe he is not a bigot/racist. There are many more hidden racists out there that are in political positions, law enforcement and the military. Im a 21yr military vet that has put my life on the line year after year to ensure American people have freedom. I used to be an avid viewer but i have moved on to other reality shows......

Dog's a good guy. You've got to be tough to be a bounty hunter and some of that toughness spills over to his language. He needs to clean up his vocabulary if he truly wants to be seen as a man of God. Words matter and constant use of profanities degrades language and behavior. The kids look up to him so he needs to take responsibility for his language.

I agree that the Dog should come back. He is such a great example of how people can change to do good no matter how much trouble they get themselves into. Change is possible for anyone.
