Chick fil-A Appreciation Day

Updated on November 14, 2014

Dan Cathy of Chick-fil-A

The Spark that Ignited a Fire

In the summer of 2012, Dan Cathy, the CEO of Chick fil-A, spoke about marriage in a series of interviews.

Mr. Cathy stated quite plainly that God's definition of marriage is one man and one woman. He also spoke in favor of marrying and staying married when he stated, "we are married to our first wives".

What has some of the gay community (& some BLTs) upset is that Cathy also warned that God does not approve of us doing whatever we willy-nilly desire. Here is what Dan Cathy said that is being quoted and distorted by left-wing and liberal media:

“we’re inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say we know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage. And I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude that thinks we have the audacity to redefine what marriage is all about.”

131.8 Miles for a Chickin Sandwich

The Chick fil-A advertising campaign is comedic. A band of cows go about marketing the concept that humans should "eat mor chickin". My favorite is this one:

Some of the other greats include one in which a cow sits on the back of another cow so she can reach up and paint on a billboard the classic "eat mor chickin".

In the last week of July, 2012, Mike Huckabee suggested driving out on Wednesday for "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day". I drove to the nearest location, in Elk Grove. From Modesto, that is a 131.8 mile trip.

Elk Grove Chick-fil-A PACKED

I exited CA-99 North at exit 287 toward Laguna Drive. I say toward because I waited on the off-ramp for several minutes and barely advanced. I moved maybe four car lengths.

Eventually, I saw the line of cars was really waiting for the drive-thru. I wanted to stand in line, so I got out of line, and drove past the restaurant to the next light.

I turned right and saw two or three dozen cars parked in a fallow field. I followed their tracks and parked. I walked two minutes to the Chick-fil-A and got in line. News 10 was there. They interviewed the man two men ahead of me in line. I have always had an uncanny way of getting interviewed by the newspaper and television crews. I was surprised they picked another person. C'est la vie.

Chickin without Borders

I noticed that conservative values (choosing God's way over the way that appeases man) do not discriminate. Everyone was extremely polite, happy, and courteous.

The hot weather and the crowd failed to adjust anyone's mood. Personally, I could feel that I was part of something great. All the people seemed to be beautiful people. There was no difference between white, black, Hispanic or Asian. Everyone waited patiently.

Awesome!

The Record of God's Punishment

Some mistakenly think Dan Cathy is incorrect about God's Judgment. Here are some examples for you to consider:

Lisbon, 1755

If people think God does not continue to strike those who rebel against Him, consider Lisbon. It once glimmered as the center of the modern world. The greatest art schools and academic universities were in Lisbon. However, they practiced and upheld a Satanic ritual called "All Soul's Day" on October 31st and held a special church service for the dead on November 1st, the following morning. This was kind of like a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day combination, but an unholy one.

On November 1, 1755, God showed the planet He reached His limit of longsuffering. A massive earthquake struck the city. More than 200 people were killed in the catholic church when the stone walls fell on them. The ground pushed up so drastically, it flattened the bed of the Tagus River. The water rushed out into the surrounding streets. The ground pounded back down and the water rushed back into the bed. Many people were carried away and washed out to sea.

The earthquake continued. Some seismologists estimate the quake to be a 9.0 on the modern scale. Historians believe as many as 100,000 people perished in the fires that eventually consumed most of the city.

Those who fled to the ships in the port died when a tsunami pushed through the bay. Ships moored to a just-completed grand pier made all of marble also disappeared when a whirlpool opened up the sea bed and pulled the entire dock under the sea and under the earth.

November 1, 1755 (All Souls Day, morning after Halloween), Lisbon, Portugal completely destroyed by 8.6 to 9.0 earthquake, tsunami, and 5 days of fires.

August 15, 2007: (Assumption of Mary Day- for "Mary, Queen of Heaven", who is really Ishtar, the sun goddess) Pisco, Peru: 8.0 earthquake, 450 killed, 17 in a church in Ica. 148 in a church in Pisco.

California:
California Wild fires of 2007:
15 days after passing SB 777 (promoting sexual perversion in school, and removing reference to family) 500,000 acres burned in the #7 worst fire in the history of America. One million people were left homeless. A prophetic warning issued beforehand said that homes belonging to members of false churches would burn in a fire. Some of the homes that burned belonged to followers of Rick Warren, a pseudo-Christian promoter of a one-world religion.

Gay marriage passage, June, 2008:
The state issued gay marriage permits on June 16, 2008. Just four days later, on June 20th, freak dry lightning storm (The Northern California Lightning Series) hit Northern California. 25,000 to 26,000 lightning bolts hit the ground. 2,000+ fires started. Firefighters from states all around, and 9 foreign countries come to assist. Almost 800,000 acres burned.

That fire was the second most expensive in American history. It bankrupt the state of California. The average annual cost of fighting fires was $44 million a few years ago. In the year spanning July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, the cost was $525 million. That is about a half billion dollars.

Thank you James! I don't necessarily like the chicken but I felt a lot of hospitality and sincerity when I was there.

"Everyone was extremely polite, happy, and courteous."

Ain't it the truth?! It is the real haters who transfer their hate or project their hate onto others. The gay protestors have faces scrunched up in utter vile evil hatred toward anyone who dares call their behavior what it is.

I was at the Chik Fil A with 3,000 other people and they were exactly as you described: wonderful souls.

21 million people ate at Chik Fil A that single day. I believe the gays have awakened a sleeping giant.

      Great article! Thank you.

The other amazing detail is how donations from Chick-fil-A to support God's version of marriage have been distorted into "donations to anti-gay groups".

Meanwhile, groups like Starbucks donate millions every year- and blatantly exclude donations to Christian groups. They donate heavily to gay groups, however.

Amazon.com is also a heavy supporter of what is perceived as the "gay agenda". Really, it is the Satanic agenda. Ex-Satanists have gotten saved, and now share that Satan has a master plan. Part of that plan is to transfer all child raising to the government. Public school control and the attack on family are part of that process. They don't want parents to teach children about God.

It's one of the first stories I heard FOX discussing when I turned on the TV today. They pointed out how much coverage was given to the protesters (front page), yet the story about the supporters received virtually no coverage at all. Our world is... so not right.

Compare the "Appreciation Day" to the "Kiss-in". The Christian effort is to support the right of freedom of speech and the truth: It is wise to obey God.

The second is going out to violate others' sense of decency and beliefs.

The book of 1 John explains a lot of what is transpiring in this series of events. Here are a few lines:

For all that [is] in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)

Not as Cain, [who] was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. (1 John 3:12-13)

A note to the LGBT community: Christians do not hate you or desire any ill against you. We do desire, however, that you will receive healing and be set free from every bondage of the enemy.

guess what's on the news (FOX) right now? The big new is 8/3's kiss-in.

Wow! That's a lot to take in. It's very intense, but you know you are right. I often wonder what is wrong with people and the way they behave. Don't they know... don't they care that they are going against God's words? Don't they know that God is in charge and God can destroy them in less time than the blink of an eye in any manner He chooses?

I wish people would wake up. I know God is not happy with our leaders right now. I pray for them to back up and get things right with God, because they are leading this country down a dark path and there is no telling what God will do then.

Excellent hub. I definitely want to share this one with my blog readers and others. I know it will be enlightening to them.
